Re: Firewall advice - DVR

Not sure where it is breaking for you (discovery of devices or discovery of dvr from clients). Keep in mind requests are dynamic so the requesting port makes a udp broadcast to 65001 for discovery. Typically your firewall must allow "any" random port to that and treat such as established to allow th...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

With quality bouncing like that you have bad reception and at that distance an outdoor antenna is probably overkill and would make your signal too hot. My personal recommendation is to never have signal strength at 100% as you won't no how much above 100% it is (though a 4k dev unit can help with th...

Re: HD HomeRun PRIME and Verizon FIOS - DRM Problems

Of what you mentioned, only the hdhomerun app in iOS can view (also hdhomerun app on win 10 and android and wmc on windows 7/8)

Though iOS (win 10, android) can work there are additional requirements.

Re: How to install HDhomerun

The way the dvr engine works is it discovers your devices... from that it obtains each devices' DeviceAuth (which renews/changes every 8 hours or when the device (re)boots) it is this DeviceAuth that controls such... in other words your license is tied to your hdhomerun hardware, not the dvr engine....

Re: Changing a cable card from Ceton InfiniTV to Prime

When you go to the device's web page (you may have clicked the wrong spot if using my.hdhomerun.com and went to it's lineup page), but on the main page click CableCARD Menu as the top of that gives a bunch of links from the card (that is why the wording may be different as it comes from the card) th...

Re: Changing a cable card from Ceton InfiniTV to Prime

What is in that menu? The last person that mentioned that wasn't getting a menu selection and typically it means the card isn't an mcard, isn't inserted all the way/correctly (don't just blindly flip it but some have managed to inserted upside down but more common is not all the way... there are pin...

Re: 2 identical hdhomerun expand devices behave differently on new scan

the 5000 channel numbers are considered "random" and will vary by device but they may remember what was the channel number just in case it has to use it again. What I would try and do is run a channel scan with no coax connected on each then connect the coax and run the scans on each device at the s...

Re: HDHR PRIME AVC Channels Buffering (Cox Communications)

It can depend on market as there are a lot of things that don't decode protected h.264 well and can depend on how such is encoded (i.e. one of my tv's has worked here in phoenix but not in socal on cox and not on comcast when I tested a few years ago when cox's "plus" pack first came out (prior to "...

Re: 24 Dec 2020

Not a huge deal but it makes Channels DVR think that they are not HD and wont show in the guide when filtered. Like i said, not a big deal but i thought I would mention. I had kind of mentioned that in another thread but with phoenix channels so screwy at the time I wasn't sure if it was just my sc...

Re: Unofficial Kodi HDHomeRun DVR PVR Client

I don't have any HEVC on cable so can't report what a prime reports... you would probably have to test for both h.265 and HEVC if you were automating it for a quatro 4k I can see (2 channels I can actually tune in SD's app with both ATSC 1.0 and 3.0) { GuideNumber: "8.1", GuideName: "AZ PBS", VideoC...

Re: 24 Dec 2020

DVR can take up to 2 hours before it realizes channel changes on it's own unless rebooted (poking it may also do it... easiest way to do that is to schedule a recording, but don't be too surprised if it needs a reboot or up to 2 hours as poking doesn't always seem to work but I have had enough succe...

I have no issues with 33.1 or 35.1 with VLC (of course no audio... but beautiful picture)

Don't be surprised if people start referring to them here with 100 added to the channel number which I don't know if it makes your work harder or easier but your work is appreciated. .

Re: New Firmware ...

How did you update it? I am following the directions, but it says firmware up to date. It's showing the red X on my firmware, but then says up to date. It's from 10/2020. I think I answered in your other post but the device only checks in with SD every 8 hours or when it (re)boots so it can take ho...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Dallas

wait up to 8 hours or reboot the tuner so it reaches out to SD and pulls in that a new firmware is available. Or download and install the new windows software package (full software package not just app) and it will install the latest firmware when you run it's setup.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix

After I installed the new firmware I saw "110.1" (since it adds 100 now)... first time in the past 2 weeks I have seen anything off 27 and I previously had on and off problems with 27 some of which "everyone" has and others that seem to only affect me. Since I rebooted to pull in firmware it may hav...
