Re: QNAP QPKG for DVR Record Engine

Those were my thoughts exactly and I originally wanted to do the same on the simple My Cloud but when they changed the page size, it became tough to ask one to install some needed server components for a real LAMP server so I abandoned my dream of doing something similar on it (though did have it on...

Re: QNAP QPKG for DVR Record Engine

there is a great world of possibilities.. just take care to mind the rules, particularly of use of images... in my mind the URL isn't an image but some may argue otherwise. I also don't know what they consider guide data so have been holding back a little (some of my initial sharing of data was base...

Re: TVJunkieMOD (Record, Request, Playback, Favorites +)

@rav3ndk I could be wrong but from what I remember, this is a mod to SD's own kodi add-on... it can possibly work with an EXPAND (it is a new enough tuner to support the modern method) but everything I have heard says there will be no guide service, etc for the EXPAND as there won't be cable guide d...

You mean the one on the first page of this thread? Two posts before you the creator said he updated that link. Or did you mean something for a newer (or older) version of kodi? Or were you asking how to install from zip inside kodi?

Re: TVJunkieMOD (Record, Request, Playback, Favorites +)

Scared to look at the new mod as it sounds like you did something I did with "mine" as a proof of concept a couple of months ago and everyone would accuse me of copying :) (I can't take full credit as I had a student work on it as they needed a project for a php class which involved getting a json o...

Re: Silicondust Blog (4/20/2015) - DVR Kickstarter

Nothing for what content you can do that with... the fee is essentially for guide data, my understanding is some areas can get that free but $20-$40/year is about standard for most areas... the main one I'm familiar with is $25 and can't be used with commercial software.

Re: SiliconDust Blog (11/21/2014) – Updates & Updates

WMC uses its own channel lineup based on its guide (though you may need to add them manually)... the other software needs a scan on the device to populate a channel list... if you go to you go to the lineup page on the device ( <ip-of-device>/lineup.html ) what channels are shown there? If none, run...

Re: SiliconDust Blog (9/9/2014) – Android App

but bhl62 had no indication his channels were h.264 and also implied they were mpeg2 (unless I missed it) as the person who had "all" h.264 channels was jamrcar which is why you actually "recommended" the nexus player as a possibility where I really don't think it is for anyone else even with native...

Re: SiliconDust Blog (9/9/2014) – Android App

That does look interesting for 100 bucks and if it supports MPEG2 natively then the prime would work fine even on cable networks that haven't switched to H.264. To replace a cable box though, it would need an app with a decent EPG on top of the HDHomeRun View functionality to get over the 'WAF' hur...

Re: Silicondust Blog (9/12/2014) - MTR700 Tuning Adapters

Thanks for letting me know of that... I thought it might work since it was basically released the same day new certificates would be be bad which made me think that might be the reason for 1.39 rather than the name change from moto to Arris. Unfortunately not much is known about it and I guess it wo...

Re: Silicondust Blog (9/12/2014) - MTR700 Tuning Adapters

Of course watch everyone complain if it doesn't actually get released this week  Which is still a possibility but I am amazed that so much can be done so fast when it comes to anything involving cablelabs. If you asked me a month ago, I would have said that it would probably take 4 more months...

Re: Silicondust Blog (9/12/2014) - MTR700 Tuning Adapters

I think this is great news and though those affected probably won't think so, I am surprised/grateful for the quick response as things like these can take several months instead of the 2 since it was first reported and just the one month since it seemed to become a larger problem. It seems it will b...

Re: Wooty woot woot (11/04/2013)

The HDHomerun Facebook page said it will be back on woot tonight (today- 5/6 started about an hour or so before I posted this since they go by central time) at the lowest price... so I patiently waited all day and find it is $80... great price.
