I'd definitely like for there to be a "dark" version that people can flip to if they don't like animated backgrounds.
I'd like to see the old green theme during the day but at 9:00PM have it automatically switch to a dark theme.

Re: EDL/ComSkip discussion

Is there a way to get this working on Linux? I had to switch to Windows to get it going because I couldn't find a way to launch comskip on linux. it would be great if the Hdhomerun app had an option to launch comskip or a script when a recording is triggered. It works great on Linux. Are you having...

Re: Unofficial Kodi HDHomeRun DVR PVR Client

v3.3.0~beta1 - April 30, 2020 I did a quick run-through and everything seems to be working fine on Linux x86-64. I chase-played a recording in progress and had no issues skipping forward to live. I skipped back to about 2 minutes behind live and it kept playing normally right through to the end of ...

Re: SiliconDust $35 subscription necessary?

I've been running a Plex Pass server for many years, and I'd like to add OTA live TV as well. I'm looking to purchase a HDHomeRun Quattro, and I assumed Plex could simply record OTA TV directly to its hard drives, but I'm seeing a lot of info saying that you might need to fork over $35/year to do s...

Anyone know of any compatibility issues between the latest version of the PVR add-on (v 3.2.2) and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS?
3.2.2 is working fine for me on Ubuntu 20.04 running in VirtualBox. No problem playing recordings from the DVR.

Re: Missed recording

I'm guessing the series ID was changed by Gracenote. Every recording task is built around a specific ID, so if a show gets moved to a different ID, then an old recording task won't work for new episodes under the new ID. It's not a common occurrence, but this show looks like something that someone ...

Re: Missed recording

Did you try deleting and recreating the task? No. I thought about doing that instead of reporting it but then nobody at SD would be aware of the failure. This isn't the first time one of my tasks stopped working. If they can figure out why this one failed maybe something can be done to prevent it f...

Re: Windows 7 x64

I guess some cable providers put DRM on lots of stuff, I was thinking mainly HBO and such. You can actually watch DRM content with the Silicondust apps -- you just can't record it. This would work well for live content like sports. As far as NASCAR, Fox Sports and NBC Sports are available from stre...

But sports aren't DRM, and they are generally available from some streaming providers as well as cable (without long-term contracts, so one can subscribe for a season as needed).
FS1 is DRM. The last time I checked you couldn't stream NASCAR.

Although in the 2020 media landscape, one should question the need for any cable TV package.

WMC isn't all that special or versatile in the 2020 media landscape.
Those of us with DRM channels think WMC is very special.

Missed recording

I have a series recording set for "Friday Night In with the Morgans" airing Friday nights at 10:00PM on AMC (ch. 731). S01E01 recorded last week (4/17) but S01E02 did not record last night. Zap2it has a listing for S01E02 last night so it should have been in the upstream guide data. This morning I c...

Re: Kill zombie tuner?

The only way to kill recordings in progress that I know if is to delete the recording tasks then restart the record engine. Once that's done you can add the tasks again.
