Re: ATSC 3.0 Tuner now always displays Unable to play channel: No Video Data

Theoretically powered? You should check that. The HDHR can't receive a station if the received power is too low or too high. Not even if another channel in the range is too high, including in the 5G range formally used by TV channels 38-51. You could get a filter to cut down that range. If you have ...

Re: Chicago Finally, sadly DRM

Can you receive WGN, RF 19, virtual channels 9.x? That's where the ATSC 1.0 version of WBBM moved to, still virtual 2.1 but now called CBS2-HD, according to RabbitEars.

Re: Chicago Finally, sadly DRM

Chicago finally has major networks on ATSC 3.0, the problem is 3 of the four major channels that just went on the air have DRM encryption. WBBM (CBS), WMAQ (NBC), and WFLD (Fox) all have DRM WGN (Local), WGBO (Local) no DRM 102.1 WBBM-NG 105.1 WMAQ-NG 109.1 WGN-NG 132.1 WFLD-NG 166.1 WGBO-NG So, tw...

Re: new Flex4k -- low signal strengths

I had thought we had fairly good LoS, being at 400' elevation, with no obvious hills (although the trees are tall). However, when I traced a topographical map ... there's a 450' hill one mile away (tower is ~18mi away). So... I guess it's in the way. Bummer The RabbitEars page you posted a link to ...

Re: HTTP API Documentation

Tuners are dynamically allocated. Keep in mind that you don't know what tuners are available when you go to tune because another app on another device may be using one or more tuners. . . . Keep in mind that you can't predict ahead of time which physical tuners will be available as there may be oth...

Thats good to know, i was reading on Reddit that the flex 4k couldn't play any encrypted atsc3 channels. Thanks!
It can't. KyL416 listed only the unencrypted ones.

Re: FOXWX 51.5 Aspect Ratio Problem

This is the station's error. The most common mistake is when a video is right for 16:9 but flagged as 4:3. Then on most normally-set displays it's squeezed horizontally, not vertically, with black bars left and right. Another error, as described in the Xfinity forum link you posted, is when a 16:9 v...

Re: Different channel scans

A 2-output splitter reduces each output to half power (actually a little lower: -3.5 dB; half power is -3.0 dB, but I'll call it half). If you're using a 3-output splitter for your three Primes, each output might be 1/3 power or one output might be 1/2 power while the other two are 1/4 power each. A...

Re: 1Gbps or faster Ethernet?

The HDHRs that really should have gigabit Ethernet are the ones that can record internally or on USB-connected drives. Users may want to copy some recordings to other computers and 100 Mbps is slow. USB drives could be moved to another device but it would have to be Linux or able to read Linux drive...

Re: US OTA channel scans to 51

The ideal would be to have the widest range still in use (2-51 in the US and Canada) but allow the users to reset the upper and lower channels to what they know are available in their area. That could also be useful to add a new channel by setting the range to just that channel, provided users also ...
