Re: The Rook

The Rook's titles are Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. That's probably why they were left out.

Re: Very poor to 'none' signal quality

I agree that I'd like to see actual signal strength levels in HDHomeRun Config GUI but a modification that everyone should understand is to allow the bar graph and percentage to exceed 100%, up to whatever level is sure to kill reception. When the bar graph exceeds 100% (or whatever level is known t...

Re: Windows Media Center and current OTA tunners

On the W7 machine, worked right out of the box but can't get my legacy MDP-130 to run in W7, far superior than using WMC and the remote is sweet, better than a Hauppauge. The MyHD MDP-130 can be made to work on Win 7 and 10 but with some limitations. There's an AVSForum thread, MyHD on Windows Vist...

Re: tuning

I just checked my HDHR setup program (version 20190417) and Australia is on the list. Are you sure it's not on yours? Or maybe it's some list in Plex Pass, which I don't use.

Re: Thread split - shspvr

Of the differences shspvr noted between drives optimized for computers and for A/V, the most important is how they handle read errors. When a computer drive encounters a read error, it keeps rereading the same sectors, hoping for success,* until it finally gives up and returns an error code. That ca...

Re: Channel Scan = No Channels Detected

You said you downloaded the latest Windows 10 software, which is probably the Win10 App. Did you also install the general Windows software? ISTR that it's necessary to get the legacy tuners to work with the online guide system. I could be wrong on that.

Re: Playback issues - inline_phil

Current tuner 0 status on this issue: Virtual Channel 8.1 WFLA HD . . . Streaming Rate 6.454 Mbps 8.1 is 1080i and WFLA also has a 720p and 3 480i subchannels. At 6.454 Mbps I'm not surprised that you see pixelation whenever there is fast motion. It's really too low for an HD subchannel. The statio...

Re: Antenna recommendations?

It's impossible to recommend an antenna without knowing anything about your location and the stations you're trying to receive. Enter your location at TV Fool , make a radar plot, then post a link to that page. That will help others here to recommend an antenna. Some Amazon reviews of the antenna yo...

Re: fewer channels after upgrade to HD Homerun Connected Quatro

Run HDHomeRun Config GUI (located in the HDHR program directory) to see if the signal strength is too high or too low. 100% is the maximum reading so if it says that, it could be much higher. Ideally, the strongest station should be a little lower than 100%. An aside to the SD folks: Why not change ...

With all the firmware updates since the launch of the original HDHR (White in color model) with the individual coax cable connections: 1) Am I better off loading a specific version of firmware to avoid any issues? - The newer firmware is catered to the "current" models and have additional features ...

Re: Sinclair Planning to Rollout ATSC 3.0 this year

I'm sure that when ATSC 3.0 starts to become popular, SD will offer an HDHR that can work with it. From what little I've read about the chip Sinclair is promoting, apparently it works as a Software Defined Radio that can be reprogrammed to receive not only ATSC 3.0 but all or most of the other digit...

Re: Forum support for code BBCode no longer preserving formatting

Whenever I want to post text where it's important to preserve spaces, such as code indents or column alignment, I first copy it into a text editor (I use Notepad++ but most any editor should do) and replace all spaces with non-break spaces (Alt+160). Then I copy it to my post and enclose it in Code ...

Re: TVJunkieMOD (Record, Request, Playback, Favorites +)

The last post in this thread is over a year old and the latest version of the mod I'm aware of (26) is older yet. I was using it on a Raspberry Pi, currently running Kodi 17.6. It worked well until I upgraded my HDHR4-2US's firmware to 20180817 from 20150826 to see what Premium TV looked like. After...

Re: Forum Improvements?

Quote citations definitely can work in we_universal. Look at this page in the French Car Forum, which is running phpBB 3.2.2 and we_universal 2.5.6-b1 or later (latest is 2.5.6-b3 dated 8/1/2018) by v12mike. A quotation shows the poster and the date/time of the post. There's also an up-arrow next to...

Re: Forum Improvements?

Quote by jasonl ยป Wed Sep 05, 2018 6:16 pm It would be better if a quotation showed who is being quoted rather than just a large quotation mark. That's particularly useful when Poster A starts a thread, Poster B says he has a similar problem and Poster C quotes Poster B in his response. Agreed, this...
