Stream breaks, blk screen-unable to play

at 4:12pm and 7 pm PDST watching live stream, and at what I perceive as the end of the show and the beginning of another, the screen turns black and displays an unable to play message. I have to tune another channel to get a stream going again and then switch back to the original channel. Have seen ...

Re: TECH4-2US... is there a market, what does it sell for?

is this it https://www.silicondust.com/product/tech4-2us/ then it is in current production. Basically it takes OTA [or clearqam cable- very rare these days] signals and multicast's them like a cable company on a LAN network to be accessed from multiple clients. Not sure about the price, you may get ...

Re: How to show only favorites in channel lists.

https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=72012#p348426 towards the end of this guide is an FAQ that describes how to disable channels or set as favorites. The favorites file has a function in DLNA delivery and creates a separate guide list for that method, in the SD system it only g...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

I've played around with the Roku app, and it's pretty nice, yes, but Comcast/Xfinity has stated that they intend for TV-connected apps (but not mobile apps) to cost money, just like renting a box, when they exist their beta period. So you still have the major problem with the cable companies chargi...

I'm pretty much SOL, wish I'd seen the warnings.

You can review my logs if that helps.

Re: Pixelation troubleshooting?

I am seeing quite a bit of pixelation for certain recorded (and live) channels, in this case Xfinity Channel 376. (I note that I do not have that many channels in the 300 range, and this is the only one I record from in the 300's.) Is there a standard troubleshooting guide for this? I use HDHomeRun...

Re: Apple TV 4K

Screen mirroring is horrible. Doesn't fill whole TV screen. HDHomerun app freezes, and DMR doesn't work. I found it horrible for almost everything I tried especially switching from HDR to SDR... do not recommend it stick with the Shield or even the Firestick 4K. fire tv products can not do DRM...

Re: Develop your own Android box

I agree with the OP's assessment of SD product. But their products are a very niche market that give them a buffer to others entering the market [especially with the prime]. And as noted the stb android based market is a wash of many marginal choices and someone who will give a lower price to gain a...

Re: Prime still available and will it serve my purpose?

If TWC was purchased by Comcast, does that mean they've relaxed the incessant DRM-ing of all channels TWC was notorious for, or do they just arbitrarily do it for monopoly power in states that allow it? Well the comcast purchase of TWC was denied by FTC. Poor decision in my opinion by the FTC as co...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

The answer is yes, to both. Is it priority #1? I'm not sure how else to ask in such a way that your answer doesn't sound diplomatic. It's likely I would have received the same answer had I asked the same question over the last few years. It's whatever needs to be done to get a release by the end of...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime 6 update?

Besides, what difference would it be when compared to this guy... The two CableCARD hosts (from the T company) used two S-cards. Most cable companies stopped stocking S-cards when M-cards were upwardly compatible (with the exception of a specific Sony CableCARD TV which apparently could just not do...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

It's technically possible that one could overwhelm 100meg ethernet, by finding the largest (bandwidth wise) channel example and multiplying that by six. It's just highly unlikely to come across that situation naturally, IMO, and is quite the edge case. Especially since a lot of cable providers are ...

Re: Should we be concerned?

naw... this is a legacy telephone company that added TV service [not sure if it is iptv but suspect], not a broadcaster. They can still provide the landline phone and internet. Once they are no longer in service they might ally with a dish service? They do not have enough buying power in the TV sect...

Re: Sinclair Planning to Rollout ATSC 3.0 this year

I can not find the original Sinclair release but seem to remember what GTB refers to; that Sinclair has a lot of tower room. So much that they seemed to say they could double if not triple from the channels they intend to start with which was around 16-18 per market. Some of this I suspected would b...
