Re: HDHR, Fire TV & 1080i

Just for fun, I installed Koying/SPMC 16.7.1 on my firetv last night. I set the accelleration to "always on" for mpeg2 and set the deinterlace to Bob and presto, the Raiders/Cheifs game on CBS was interlace and judder free. I'm not real techy, but why does that work in SPMC, and not in Kodi 17.4? B...

Re: Considering Win10 Record Engine

So it's a .mpg file? I wonder if Comskip can process that file type? This is a MUST.

Thanks.
No problem running Comskip on the file but the DVR and clients do not support comskipping.

Re: Closed caption settings

Looks like you can now set them to always on using Android settings. Not useful for me personally, but that's great.
Agree the DVR and Clients are getting better and better.

Re: Media Extender for HD Homerun Prime ?

For now. I remember when Ceton came out with a CableCARD tuner first and the whole community pumped out this great advice to get the Ceton as SDs solution was still a work in progress. I decided to wait. I'm glad I did. I think Ceton owners had issues and cropped it up to Media Center being unstabl...

Re: Media Extender for HD Homerun Prime ?

Bottom line is that a Windows 10 PC or XBOX are needed if you have DRM Channels. For now. Re: Media Extender for HD Homerun Prime ?

I'm not a fan of the PC or Xbox approach. First, there isn't a great remote control solution out of box. Second, no HDMI-CEC (for shame). Last, no Kodi. Plex may suffice in that category for some people. Basing a purchase on a beta product could result in buyers remorse down the road when SD finali...

Re: Media Extender for HD Homerun Prime ?

No, not yet. Only Windows 10 and Xbox One apps can handle DRM channels right now. Encrypted channels are decrypted by the CableCard inserted into the Prime. It is the DRM (copy-once) that is the problem. IIRC, Comcast encrypts almost all channels. But only premium channels like HBO require DRM. Als...

Operation without internet is a work in progress.

NYPlayer - which platform was giving you the 10m wait?

Nick
Windows 10. ... but it is much better now. 1 to 2 minutes.

Re: DVR - No Internet - Kudos

If it works - great! It sounds like a lackluster approach though. For this, I keep W7 Media Center on the ready so I can continue to watch OTA in the event of an outage. Will the SD app continue to tune OTA channels in the absence of a connection? Yes it worked with both Cable and OTA ... but start...

Re: HDHR, Fire TV & 1080i

If the nvidia shield can push out video to other clients, RasberryPi, FireTV and the like, will it deinterlace the video before sending it out? This would fix the FireTV/Stick lack of hardware deinterlacing. Just need one shield as the main box and then send video to whatever other boxes you have ...

Re: DVR - No Internet - Kudos

Yeah 10 minutes is way too long. Mine had some images in the recorded section (maybe cached on the device?)
I unchecked the "Early Access to New Features" and it started up in about a minute.... with no internet connection.

I can't seem to find the "Hardware Acceleration" tick box on my plex server. Look under server settings ... Transcoder... scroll down. I am on PMS Version 1.9.4.4325 (latest) and I don't see this option in transcode settings. Is it a pass user feature? It might be.... not sure... I am on Plex Pass ...

Re: DVR - No Internet - Kudos

So for the first time we’ve had our internet and cable go out. Obviously that means no LiveTV, but I am happy to report that all apps (Win10, Xbox, iOS and Android) all worked for DVR access with no issues. We were able to watch our recorded shows as expected. I did not see this in the changelog .....
