Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

If it wasn't for the promise of DRM recording I wouldn't even need the Primes.... even the recording of XFINITY DRM Channels can be done legally with other options. I am just getting tired of unfulfilled promises and excuses. I am looking at best Options on using Silicondust just for OTA and other s...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

I think when the Prime 6 comes out, a lot of people are going to find out how good (or bad) their network hardware is capable of handling, as some would say, a full pipe. I personally chose a Cisco small business switch for my home network. It is well supported, very affordable, and feature packed....

Forgive me, the theoretical question wasn't specifically about the real Prime 6, where we have actually given specs and said it will have six tuners (don't worry, it will have six tuners).

If "Product X" existed but only did 5 concurrent streams for CableCARD, would that be worth buying?
Yes

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

Honest question for everyone, edge case or not, if the Prime 6 could only handle 5 concurrent channels (for whatever reason), would it still be worth buying for you? I would be Leary to buy the tuner the way it stands now with only 100 Nic Card... So would be less inclined to buy with only 5 tuners.

Re: SageTV instructions?

I use OpenDCT for all my tuners including OTA but there is no native support for Primes in SageTV OpenDCT is definitely a must have.

Other than the addition of 3 more tuners, what will be the difference between the Prime and the Prime 6? Faster processor? More memory? Faster/better channel switching?
Nothing particularly. It really is just 3 more tuners.
It does have a slower Network Interface.

In Discover you can now search for a channel number to see shows on that channel. You can optionally add additional search terms after the channel number.
Thank you! This is the best thing to come to HDHomeRun DVR since DRM support for live TV.
I cannot even get search to work on my shield.

Re: Feedback on new Discover Now

When I go to search in discover section on the Shield it brings up the keyboard … I type in the show then hit done … I can see the button press but it does not do anything.

Re: Feedback on new Discover Now

When I select a movie on Discover it shows the channel the date and not the time … I like to record my Movies outside of Prime Time as I do not want to impact any Prime Time new shows. I see 2 or more occurrences of the Movie but no time is shown. \ https://i.postimg.cc/KY85tXC5/Annotation-2019-04-2...

Re: Feedback on new Discover Now

Gridview is dumb, and should head out to pasture. It's simply the way it's always been and what people know and change is scary. ;) Maybe that is what SiliconDust thinks. I certainly hope not, if they want me as a customer. I want at least the functionality that I have now in WMC, and if they can p...

Re: Feedback on new Discover Now

This conversation has got me wondering about a new thing. I'm wondering how all of you guys use your DVR system in the first place. I ask, because it's honestly pretty rare for me to just randomly search for shows. Unless I'm testing something, I tend to set up all my recordings and spend almost al...

Re: Feedback on new Discover Now

I wonder if in v.3 we had some kind of box that updated as you scrolled around the page that included a summary of whatever you where highlighting, plus a series of little boxes, like you see on HBO movies, that indicate important things. They'd include New/Rerun, HD/SD, Commercial Free, nudity. :)...
