Re: Lon interview with SD ...Prime 6 looks a long way away ..

Cord cutting+OTT content is an option for a lot of people, but we know there's still a big market of cord shavers available for PRIME 6, just as there was for the original PRIME. Cable is still a reasonable option at a reasonable price for a lot of people, at least once you cut out the insane fees f...

Re: AM/FM Capabilities

NTSC tuners could receive FM because the audio on NTSC channels is nothing but a slightly modified version of FM radio, and it's no great trick to use the adjust the tuning parameters to switch back and forth. The tuning components in the HDHomeRun cannot receive NTSC or FM radio at all, so unfortun...

Re: How to use AVC HD content

Perc Data has their own approved list, and again Plex isn't on it. I'm aware that the grabber is open source, but it was brought to my attention that Schedules Direct people have explicitly stated that using their data with Plex is a violation of the agreement, even if it's relayed through an approv...

Re: Windows 10 and QuickTV

That does sound like a decoder issue. WMP and QuickTV use DirectShow filters for decoding, and Windows 10 may no longer include an MPEG2 decoder in DirectShow form since it doesn't have WMC (Windows 7/8 only included them as part of WMC).

Re: How to use AVC HD content

Just a reminder, Schedules Direct's membership agreement limits use of their data to freeware and open-source applications on their approved list, and Plex is not an approved app. We wouldn't want them to get in trouble and have to change things up for everyone who is using their data in approved ap...

Re: The passage didn't record

Appears that both tuners were in use. One was recording back to back episodes of Andromeda, then the DVR tried to start both The Passage and Magnum PI at the same time. For some reason, Magnum PI got through just ahead of The Passage and was the one that got recorded, even though it looks like you h...

Re: HD HomeRun Lineup Favorite Channels - Xvidia Shield

The HDHomeRun app does not currently do anything with favorited channels. The DVR will prefer recording from them, but that's the only action taken for them.

If you're watching an SD channel, you may need to zoom by pressing the zoom button (2 arrows pointing out) on the control bar.

Re: No record when screen starts on DVR

Where do you have the DVR software installed?

Are new recordings being created (assuming you had any scheduled)?

Re: Windows 10 and QuickTV

Firewall maybe? Check to make sure the program is allowed through the Windows Firewall. QuickTV was discontinued well before the release of Windows 10, so they've never been tested together. The Windows 10 app requires internet access in order to use legacy devices, as otherwise it has no way to get...

Re: Any recourse? Back to stone age. Everything DRM now

Federal regulations are quite clear that broadcast channels cannot be copy protected by cable providers. Whatever flimsy excuse the provider wants to offer, like they're just passing it on from the station, doesn't matter, because federal regulations say they can't do it. I also don't buy that "we'r...

I don't believe there's any version of the software that will run on XP and will scan and upload the results as needed. XP support was dropped long before the current system was designed.

Re: Unable to pull all channels

Is your HDHomeRun in close proximity to any other electronics, particularly anything that uses wifi or LTE? There's a frequency range that the HDHomeRun isn't locking on signals in, and problems in that particular range are usually from one of those 2 sources. It can also happen if you have any cabl...
