Re: One channel pixelated/ ticket 146964
For what it's worth, KPNX received a construction permit from the FCC on 2/26 to move from channel 12 to channel 18, which they requested due to the large number of people having trouble receiving their channel 12 broadcast. I don't know when they plan to actually make the move, but that will almost...

Re: Guide errors
You need to provide the device ID for your HDHomeRun so they can fix the listing for the HGTV HD channel.

Re: Unable To Play Back Recorded Content
My guess is that Silicondust has the guide listings for 25 set to ABC Television Melbourne instead of no listings like it should be for a radio station. SD's guide listings in Australia are all set by hand, so if there is a channel that has an ambiguous name like that, it could get set wrong. When N...

You sure about that, Nick? I thought quick tune used RF channel and program number instead of RF channel and PID filter.

Re: Semi-Clueless OLD Newbie
FWIW, the HD7000R and YA7000C are basically the same antenna, except the HD version has the mounting clamp in the middle vs. the YA having it at the end, and the YA includes a J pole and mounting bracket while the HD requires a separate mast. I believe the HD model is discontinued, so it's not a bad...

The GTK app for Linux/Mac is a completely separate codebase from the Windows version, and it hasn't seen a significant change since like 2011. You could modify the existing GTK source to match the Windows functionality. It's not like most of the important stuff that is missing (e.g. PLP checkboxes f...

Re: MythTV HDHR5-4K integration
libhdhomerun is a waste of your time for this since the way MythTV uses it is designed around broadcasts being transport streams. ATSC 3 doesn't use transport streams, so there's really no point in trying to cram that square peg into the round hole. You're better off using ExternalRecorder and mythh...

Don't trust the Roku at all. Try the HDHomeRun app on a platform that is known to work well - Windows 10, Mac, Android, iOS, Apple TV.

AFAIK, Comcast still has a mix of markets that have transcoded locals and markets that don't. Check a recording in MediaInfo or a live stream in VLC to see if it's MPEG2 or MPEG4/H.264/AVC. The former is likely the original stream that might have NVIDIA issues; the latter is transcoded and should not.

Re: Can't unhide
Seems like SD broke this in a UI update since I'm not seeing the Unhide button either. It's something they'll have to fix on their side.

Do you have a channel 25? Are the guide listings correct for both it and 20?

I'm assuming that's Tucson? Most everyone in greater Tucson should be able to get ABC, PBS, Telemundo, and Univision pretty easily. Those in Oro Valley, Marana, and other parts in the NW will have a lot of trouble with Fox and probably NBC, and may or may not have trouble with CBS depending on the a...

I'd much rather see them dump the computer-based app entirely and put all of the functionality on the device's web page where it belongs. Make it accessible on tablets and phones so we can adjust our attic and rooftop antennas without having to lug a laptop around. Probably less dev work to rewrite ...

Re: Semi-Clueless OLD Newbie
The summary of Roku is this: Roku devices are designed to play web streaming video. They do a pretty good job of that. They aren't designed to play other kinds of video like broadcast or cable TV, but you can kind of hammer a square peg into a round hole and sort of get something that almost works. ...

Re: Channels displayed only in HDHomeRun Setup App
DVB supports something called the logical channel number (LCN), which is used to identify channel numbers in many parts of the DVB world, which is most of the world outside of the Americas and the Far East. For example, when you're in England and watching via an antenna, BBC One is on channel 1, BBC...
