MyCloud 2.31.183

Has anyone dared update to MyCloud 2.31.183 yet and not seen any issues?

Re: LG TV - WebOS request

They said that they would like to do that. I'm guess if they do it won't be till after AppleTV. They said that AppleTV wouldn't start until the new UI comes out of beta.

Although WMC files are somewhat proprietary, Windows 10 will play them even without WMC.
Yes, but only Windows, hence proprietary. You have to move the TS to a different container file to play them on anything else. Or convert them to another format all together.

Re: Account Information at Startup Windows 10

It’s there every time I load the app. I assume after reading this that it’s because I have two primes registered that are not plugged in. Tried to remove them with the trash can icon. One worked and went away. When I click to remove the other it gives me the error: ErrorType: null is not an object (...

DRM recording is required feature and I understand why it may be very hard (vs when Microsoft did it originally with WMC in Win 7)
Yeah when MS did it, they only had to work with one OS which they fully controlled and are a much bigger company. Still took them three years to do it.

Re: Why switch from Media Center to SD DVR?

HDHR DVR works on Xbox One, AndroidTV, FireTV, Android, iOS, Win10, Mac and now Roku. Eventually they will support AppleTV as well. DRM will only work on Win10 and XBox One. The other clients are nice, but not useful for someone (like me) who wants to stick with Cable TV. DRM works on Win10, Xbox, ...

Re: Why switch from Media Center to SD DVR?

If I don't receive satisfactory answers to my questions, I will probably switch to a T I V O system. My Media Center system has some limitations. But, I don't see how the Silicondust DVR will do anything better than my current system. First: Your "View" application needs to be able to be controlled...

Re: Hardware Management Apps - Future

Yes I do mean a traditional vertical app that provides remote management features. I’m not sure what it will take on your end, but since DVR accounts are attached to store logins I would assume it wouldn’t be too crazy difficult to use that login to manage recordings and see status remotely.

Hardware Management Apps - Future

I'm not sure if this is something you guys have discussed internally, but mobile apps to manage hardware and DVR would be very nice. Especially if you could do it remotely. Some of the features could be:
  • Update Firmware
  • Update Software
  • Manage Recordings
  • View Status (tuners, DVR storage, etc.)

Re: HDHomeRun Prime 6 update?

The trick is telling them that you need two cards for one DVR like the older T VOs then they will code the cards correctly and it will only be a total around $2-4. That would not be coded correctly and is considered theft of service, especially if you try to convince them to do so when you are doin...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime 6 update?

I think I'm paying 2 bucks a month per card (tuning adapter included), so if I delete one card, it's going to take about 8 years to recoup the cost of the Prime 6. If there's one thing that I really can't complain about, it's the rental fee of a cable card. That said, I'd still like to see the Prim...

Re: Still hung up on font size

I have a 55" LG OLED and I sit a good 10-12 ft away. The guide is useless because I can't read anything. I have to get up and stand about 6 feet before I can read it (even WITH my glasses). The images just compound the issue for me with poor contrast or conflicting colors. I may use the DVR and liv...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

Comcast Xfinity in Seattle with Prime. No sound on any channel that plays. Only two or three local channels will play a picture, but without sound. All other channels won't play. My Samsung 4K TV still works great, but it is four years old so the audio support is not there. The Roku app just got re...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

I just found out about this beta app, and was excited to think I'd be able to get live tv on my Roku, only to find that I need to go out and buy more equipment in order for this app to work. There was NOTHING in the articles I read about additional hardware being required. Can someone tell me just ...

Re: Samsung TV 2012 app connectivity dropping repeatedly

There has never been an HDHR app for Samsung. Some Samsung TVs used to be able to access live TV and DRV using the RUI (remote user interface) that Samsung added to their TVs for use with DirectTV. And one point 1-1/2 to 2 years ago Samsung forced an updated that removed RUI. Most of the Samsung Sma...
