It turned out to be a setting that had somehow gotten change. Looked everywhere but the obvious place. Security and privacy. "Allow app to see devices on local network?"
User error, aka "Loose nut behind wheel' for you auto mechanics...

There is already a tuner box that has DRM recording in beta hope HDHR DVR will have it soon.
Recording DRM protected content isn't the problem (unless the broadcast chooses to block recording or to force-expire recordings which is a different issue)

I'm experiencing this on Mac OS Tahoe 26.1. I can access the tuner(s) on my android phone, and mythtv frontend (backend running on linux) works on all devices - including the mac - that I run the frontend on.
