How do you use the tuners web interface for signal strength? Larry Tune a channel, go to the web interface, select Tuner Status, select the tuner that is in use and there it is Tuner 0 Status Virtual Channel none Frequency none Program Number none Modulation Lock none Signal Strength none Signal Qu...

Re: Encryption
If your attitude is wanting answers, I wouldn't look for them here as until it actually happens there isn't much to mention that hasn't already been said a million times so there is no reason to ask yet again. This. A million times over. Reading this thread is like reading posts from kindergartners...

Re: Encryption
As for Plex and Channels, I know they will have to provide approved apps, but the question is, are there any restrictions in the specifications that doesn't allow their apps from using SD hardware like they do today. Considering that Channels can stream content outside of the home, I assume that wo...

Re: Encryption
Once niikk has a chance to review and digest the specifications/blueprints, I, like most of us out on the thread, hopes he'll provide a breakdown of what the A3SA specs are Assuming it's public information; it may be licensed only to developers (at a cost, I would imagine) and quite possibly under ...

Re: HDHomeRun Flex 4K ATSC 3.0 Next GenTV Tuner
The answer is somewhat complicated, start with the first post in this thread: https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78888&sid=04736a208deae8fe6ca239259d1949bd The pertinent bit is that it in the forseeable future, there will be an update that will work with Android-based streaming ...

Re: Encryption
I'm not sure I understand what Ned is saying here, about the possible someday eventual maybe usability of an $20 ONN Android-based Widevine-based ATSC 3.0 box at Walmart that "will eventually get DRM ATSC 3.0 channels". Does that mean he's predicting that the device itself will someday be...

Re: Encryption
So exactly what does Silicondust plan to offer their customers in regard to DRM encryption? I see a lot of what you can't do, but nothing about what you can do. From the first post in this thread: Will DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels play on my Android or Fire TV device? Using a gateway product - w...

Re: Encryption
It's happened here in the Portland Metro area, three of the stations have flipped DRM on. Fox, NBC, and PBS. No, not PBS, and they (KGW, KPTV, and KPDX) switched over a week ago or so. They had previously been DRM'd until several months when it was switched off. My guess? NFL season and now that th...

Re: Chicago Finally, sadly DRM
Funny how this and all the other announcement articles never mention the channels being encrypted...Mjpearson2000 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 10:40 am https://cordcuttersnews.com/atsc-3-0-ex ... extgen-tv/

Re: Encryption
Once SD gets the android solution certified wouldn't using the fire tv stick be the same secure solution. Isn't this pretty much covered in the first post? Will DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels play on my Android or Fire TV device? Using a gateway product - we expect it will be possible in the futur...
