Re: Closed Captions on iPad
Seems like closed captions actually work if they are turned on. But hitting the CC button crashes my iPhone.

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
WTTG (105.1 Fox in DC) indeed turned on DRM in January 2025. Nothing to do with Dolby Vision or the LA stations' issue.
Thanks. With the new firmware, I wasn’t sure if WTTG would have a DV or not now. For me it does not. I suppose that could be because it is DRM encrypted, but wasn’t sure if it ...

I have same issue on iPhone. ATSC 1.0 or 3.0 does not matter.

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
Looks like Rabbitears says 105.1 is DRM, so I guess the most I hope for is it being labeled DV DRM.

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
Two questions:
1. Does that mean that when most of ATSC 3.0 Fox stations turned on Dobly Vision before the Superbowl in February and we couldn’t watch those stations anymore, that it was really this issue preventing us from watching and not DRM? My Washington Fox 105.1 give me the same message, but ...

Re: Encryption
Yeah, I guess what I’m getting at is Apple has their own DRM technology, which I’m guessing is fine to deliver the high quality video and sound content to their devices, but it’s not Google’s Widevine. It would be great if Network streaming devices could use “equivalent” available encryption ...

Re: Encryption
SD would hopefully mention the slew of devices that support reasonable streaming encryption all the way to the end device, but isn’t Widevine, that should be permitted by the A3SA for transport and is currently in use for streaming.

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
It would also seem that they are trying to address the issue in non-technical ways (as well as technical) by pursuing the Multiple Dwelling Unit market. Currently people needing a DRM gateway solution is probably around 2.5 x HDHR 4K Flex devices sold, which is a small segment of the ATSC 3.0 ...

Re: Encryption
Ah, now you might be able to talk sense to Google and get them to convince A3SA that what you want to do is sufficient to protect DRM encrypted media. I don’t believe A3SA has the technical people to make such decisions on their own. So Google probably advises them on the technical stuff regarding ...

Re: Encryption
So are you saying that A3SA has provided an approved architecture for network tuners to be certified and provide DRM content to various devices over the network? Or are you just talking about the one receiver connected via HDMI to a single TV solution competitors are offering?

I believe the only Baltimore ATSC 3.0 channels that aren’t DRM are Fox 145.x and WMPT.

Re: Las Vegas - Channel 29 or Channel 1?
On which channels are you getting 'no video data'?
EDIT: I think you are in the Balt/Wash area from previous posts. I can confirm WNUV ATSC 3.0 on RF25 is having a problem. I see 'no video data' on all five "subchannels" there when trying to view in the Windows or Onn GoogleTV HDHR app - even ...

Re: Las Vegas - Channel 29 or Channel 1?
Is there a way for me to reproduce your results on ATSC 3.0 channels that report no video data in my area if I don’t have an Nvidia Shield? I have a FireTV 4K for the HD Homerun App. I also run HD Homerun and Channels on iOS and iPadOS.
