Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
While watching live, I started a recording and it worked. It’s visually unintuitive to know how to stop that recording. I assume it would automatically stop at the end of the program. I’d expect the circle to become a square on the live view of a channel I’m recording in this way. But it remains a ...

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
Early access was already on for me. But today I see the record circle on my Google 4K Streamer. Thanks for this upgrade. How unexpected. Now I need to think about what I actually want to record.

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
Thanks. That explains it. I’ll be looking for that then.
The capability seems to be working great for me.
Other than fast forwarding, is there a nicer way to skip over commercials?

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
Ok, on my iPhone I see the record dot in the lower left corner when I tap the screen and bring up the action bar. I don’t recall seeing the record dot on my Google Streamer device while doing the equivalent thing.

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
Thanks! That was easy! I recorded my non-DRM Fox station with faux ATMOS and when I played it back, my audio system went into ATMOS mode. Now I think you are doing things I couldn’t do before with 3rd party players.

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
Do I need to do more than install the DVR software apk on my NAS and then schedule a recording? Or is there another missing step if I don’t have a subscription?

Actually, how do I record a program starting now? I see how to record the next program, but not starting now.

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone
I have a Flex 4K and an Asustor NAs setup. How would I tell the Flex 4K to record to the NAS?
Just follow these instructions: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/dvr:nas:asustor
Thanks. That was pretty easy as long as I ignore the requirements for a DVR subscription. We'll see if it records ...

Re: 2026 NextGen Olympics TV Coverage Plans
Great reporting! My 2 NextGen NBCs are DRM encrypted. So I can’t see them on my 4K Flex. I can watch on ATSC 1.0 which is very watchable.
I assume you U4K broadcast is really 4K HDR->1080p HDR->1080i->U4K faux HDR. Or some convoluted conversion path like that.

Why are the replays SDR if they are replay of the live HDR events that were recorded?

I forgot to ask if you SD guys have any timeline at all on when we might be able to try whatever you’re implementing out.

Re: RENDER: ATSC 3.0 Analysis Tool
Same “trick” with WUTB tells me the summary info I was looking for on WBAL. So I guess that’s also 1080P but Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, with DRM. So just snd upgrade from the 1080i ATSC 1.0 station.
Perhaps this is what the green icon on WUTB means to me and slightly different row coloring: it’s an ...

Re: RENDER: ATSC 3.0 Analysis Tool
Ah, it looks like I needed to open WHUT to see the information for the ATSC 3.0 stations using their tower.

Re: RENDER: ATSC 3.0 Analysis Tool
Hey Trip, I managed to stumble and find the RENDER results on rabbitears for WBAL to determine that the encrypted WBAL NextGen broadcast isn’t much better than the ATSC 1.0 broadcast in audio or video. Hopefully I read that right.
