Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
I'm having trouble getting this working fully on a UGreen Nas. I have this image created and running on docker inside UGOS. The engine is running and I was able to record shows inside the HDHomeRun app. I can also confirm the shows are recorded in the shared folders. I can watch the recordings ...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime ignoring DHCP reply
everything looks good from messages.
maybe something on a switch configuration?
VLAN tagging?
For things like this I like to use a mini-pc with 2x NICs configured as a bridge to see exactly what's on the link between the device and the next port upstream.. or if the switch support mirroring ports ...

Re: Self-assigned IPv6 address vs DHCP
from opnsense docs, assisted is:
Stateful configuration, address configuration provided by DHCPv6, although advertised routes can also be used on Stateless Address Autoconfiguration setups (SLAAC).
pfsense is similar.
wasn't clear if the prefix info would still be in the RA, or just the routing info ...

Re: Self-assigned IPv6 address vs DHCP
confirmed :(
we do not support DHCPv6 client at this time.
On our list of things to do.
So.. in this scenario the HDHomerun cannot support a reserved IPv6 address and will make use of the prefix information in the Router Advertisement to use SLAAC to generate a valid IPv6 address for the network ...

Re: Self-assigned IPv6 address vs DHCP
on OPNSense you need to modify the Router Advertisement mode to 'managed' if you want to use ONLY the DHCPv6 on the network, which is what you'll need for address reservation
All other modes (other than 'router only') will provide prefix info for SLAAC configuration which is how the HDHomeRun is ...

make sure you set up your router to advertise the DHCPv6 server and NOT prefix information within the Router Advertisement.

just a guess...
but I suspect your usb drive wasn't mounted when the DVR started after the reboot and thus the engine couldnt see the Recordpath to write logs or process anything and basically exits or sits there.

Re: unofficial Docker Container for Record Engine
How can I verify which version of the recording engine I am running? I am using Unraid. I understand with every docker image restart it is pulling down a new version if needed. Thanks
You have multiple ways
1. The container contains a simple web based UI at the DVRUI_PORT you provided to the ...

Re: Asustor APK for DVR Record Engine
I have an AS5304 NAS and have installed the APK. I have an external hard drive connected to my NAS and am wondering if there is a way to save recordings to the external hard drive rather than to the NAS storage device.
Open the UI and change the RecordPath to the folder on the external drive you ...

Re: Recording metadata - TPeterson
@rikd, thanks for your reply. Since you're new to this conversation, some background seems to be in order. CW_EPG, my HDHR PVR app (user manual here ), has been using HDHR tuners (and others before there were HDHR tuners) for many years. It handles scheduling and recording sessions via Windows ...

Re: Recording metadata - TPeterson
I see from the logs that the DVR engine creates that it rather frequently "phones home" to find out, among other things, whether I've subscribed to the DVR service. Given that I only intend to use the HDHomerun viewer app to play local recordings, that seems unnecessary O/H for both Silicondust ...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
My other issue is as I mentioned in another post, I don't see any of my previous recordings except for one folder with 2 episodes. I should have dozens of previously recorded shows, and even the one folder showing up only shows 2 episodes, when it should have 59. Is there anyway to get all my ...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Hello,
Installed hdhomerun_record_synology_20221106beta1.spk according to instructions. Everything worked fine.
DS218+ running DMR 711-42962 update 1, HDHomeRun app version 20221031 on my mac (OS 13.0.1).
I then tried to change the record path in hdhomerun.conf:
It is: RecordPath=/volume1 ...
