SiliconDust has clearly identifies that their ATSC 3.0 tuners can not currently decrypt or record DRM content.
They are restricted by the A3SA as they can come up with a software solution for encrypted content, but the A3SA controls the DRM keys.

Is it possible to his the record button ( it turns red) and then stop the recording after 5 mins if I do not want to record the complete remainder of the show? Why is it so complicated to stop a recording in progress?

In my opinion, many of us ATSC 3.0 enthusiasts claim to have this problem or assume is is the turner device. In most of my findings is has to do with the player device such as an Android STB with incorrect sound codec settings or with your TV sound settings on PMC and not pass through to your 5.1 ...

I run my HDHOMERUN Flex 4k using JellyFin and Schedule Direct for the EPG. The HDHr hardware does not need any connection to SiliconDust. I also have the option to use the free 2 day EPG from SiliconDust with my JellyFin and it also works fine using a JellyFin plug in.

The Google Streamer uses a MediaTek MT8696 SoC which can be your issue. I am not sure it is optimized for ATSC 3.0 HEVC/AC4 like the Amlogic S905X5M5 found in the ONN 4k Pro2. You may need to consider a new streaming box from Apple or a box with Amlogic S905X5 or S905X5M5 SoCs.

You would either need to set the speaker configuration in the HDHomeRun app to passthrough or connect the PC directly to the receiver via HDMI. S/PDIF is bandwidth-limited and can only carry DD, DTS, or max 2 channels of PCM audio.
