Re: Encryption
So blame me, or at least my Karma. It has to be that, and I am super-sick with disqust and disappointment. And I absolutely LOVE this hardware that I bought two because I needed one to use a separately-aimed antenna so I could get my Perry Mason from a station that was not in the coverage "CON...

Re: Tampa WTSP (CBS) Goes DRM
GE 29884 Decent UHF antenna, basically rabbit ears for VHF, so that would explain reception problems on Tampa NBC, CW, CBS, Fox, and PBS, which are all on VHF. Have you ever tried with the antennas reversed, the RCA pointing towards Tampa and the GE pointing towards Ft. Myers? Everything in Ft. Mye...

Re: Tampa WTSP (CBS) Goes DRM
I am using Channels DVR for the major networks and have two antennas. One points south (HDHomeRun Duo) and one points north (Flex 4) as I am between Tampa and Ft Myers broadcasters. Not too long ago, I had all the major networks in ATSC 3.0 and the minor networks (Me TV, PBS, etc) in 1.0. As one by ...

Re: Tampa WTSP (CBS) Goes DRM
My antenna for the ATSC 3.0 Tampa stations is a GE 29884 traditional and it works great in the attic even though I'm 60 plus miles away.
For my closer ATSC 1.0 I originally had a Antennas Direct ClearStream but switched to a cheap Walmart RCA Suburban Mini Yagi which works a tad better.

Tampa WTSP (CBS) Goes DRM
Yesterday, CBS joined NBC and ABC in encrypting ATSC 3.0 signals. Only FOX remains unencrypted now in the Tampa Bay area. I have never been able to receive ATSC 1.0 signals from Tampa so this is a real bummer because the 3.0 signals have been coming in great. I have two antennas (and two HDHomeRUNS)...

Re: CBS 4K Super Bowl
I had Paramount Plus with no ads and they had the Super Bowl in HDR. I couldn't tell if it was also 4K but it looked like it. I was trying to figure out the same. Paramount's feed looked better overall than my local CBS channel which was a little bit of a disappointement IMO. What player were you u...

CBS 4K Super Bowl
I had Paramount Plus with no ads and they had the Super Bowl in HDR. I couldn't tell if it was also 4K but it looked like it. I tried the CBS 4K channel on Fubo but it had technical difficulties --- the audio had frequent dropouts. But the video was OK..... I then tried the ATSC 3.0 CBS broadcast wh...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
I can testify that my HDHR5-4K can successfully record an ATSC 3.0 broadcast. Through the $20 WalMart Onn "Google TV box" no less! :D Now if somebody from the broadcast industry will PLEASE work with SiliconDust on DRM, I can quit being so mean to the broadcasters in the AVS ATSC 3.0 foru...

Re: List of Supported devices
So will this go to your transcoding server or will it always go through passthrough, independently from the app's speaker configuration? ms12 is transcoding built into the device - no server involved. The HDHomeRun app uses the AC4 system codec if present. Next the HDHomeRun app uses AC4 passthroug...
