AHA!!! You sir are a gentleman and a scholar!
Sure enough, over the past week or so I've been involved on the 'OTA LA" thread on AVS Forum, discussing assorted issues relating to several KTLA sub-channels and their statmux-assigned low bitrates, resulting video image anomalies, etc. And so I have ...

Re: Why is my laptop continuously reading 20Mbps from Flex-4K?
Well, something "residual", like an app still tuning or whatever... seems plausible as a maybe.
But initially it was from a brand new fresh boot to Win11 on that laptop. Zero had been running. Just Windows desktop initialization, including DUMeter. And that 20Mbps "flood" coming in from the Flex-4K ...

Re: Why is my laptop continuously reading 20Mbps from Flex-4K?
Well I decided to try pulling the power cord out of the Flex-4K. And of course sure enough the continuous 20Mbps data being pumped to the laptop stopped.
Then I plugged it back in, and amazingly it did NOT resume pumping data to the laptop! I even re-booted the laptop and still everything seems ...

Why is my laptop continuously reading 20Mbps from Flex-4K?
This is very strange. I happened to be working in Win11 on one of my LAN computers tonight, a Lenovo P70 laptop, on which I have DUMeter installed. This is a software product that monitors download/upload traffic on LAN and internet. Although I was doing absolutely nothing, DUMeter reported a ...

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
I can also confirm that all ATSC 3.0 channels have returned to normal operation.
My engineering contact at KTLA responded to my email yesterday, saying that he had called KTTV (for some reason?) about my problem report, and that "they were looking into it". I would have expected him to contact KCOP ...

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
I can confirm that ALL of the LA ATSC 3.0 channels are "down", despite what appears to be a 100% signal strength.
All five LA ATSC 3.0 non-DRM channels present "unavailable, no video data" on my Flex-4K. I have done a re-scan and all channels are detected. Looks normal, except it doesn't work. All ...

Re: Latest software/UI/firmware: Win10 HDHR app is missing "DVR"
But I AM a DVR user. So I'd like to see a button that directs me to non-live features pertaining to DVR, e.g. to examine DVR library of recordings, schedule of upcoming recordings, etc.
So if there is some secondary UI for all of this DVR and non-DVR stuff (e.g. settings, discover, etc.), and if ...

Re: Latest software/UI/firmware: Win10 HDHR app is missing "DVR"
What exactly are you looking for as "backstage" is the X button which has always seems to have done the same thing (for a while they labeled this button DVR which isn't as appropriate as not everyone has DVR and there is more to "backstage" then recordings and tasks which is what the DVR is ...

Latest software/UI/firmware: Win10 HDHR app is missing "DVR"
What happened to the "DVR" button on the latest 20250515 UI for Windows? It's missing. So no way to get into settings, or go to DVR, schedule, etc.
Just installed the latest updates into my Win10 system: 20250316 (app), 20250515 (UI), HDHR Setup 20250506

Re: Cannot View Los Angeles Fox ATSC 3.0 channel NO DRM
KTTV 111.1 and KCOP 113.1 now both trigger the "HDR" badge on my LG OLED watching via a competitive device product. Both of these are still NOT DRM.
KTLA 105.1 is NOT HDR and also NOT DRM.
KCBS 102.1 is NOT HDR but is DRM.
KNBC 104.1 is both HDR and also is DRM.

Re: Encryption
Actually watching live using other apps and silicon dust tuners does give you most of the capabilities you are discussing such as REW, FF, Pause etc. I use these all the time while watching live tv and really enjoy it. But these functions are enhanced when viewing a recording. So I don't really ...

Re: Encryption
The whole point of DRM is prevent recording.
My question is.
What TV content do people record nowadays?
Anything at all that you are unavailable (or prefer not) to watch when it airs. ANYTHING!
That is the entire point of VCR/DVR for personal use... to allow the viewer to record anything when ...

Re: Encryption
I've been a user of SD products for over 7+ years, and I love them. Not so long for me. I jumped in with the Flex-4K about 1.5 years ago. Loved it, and still love it... for non-DRM ATSC 3.0 here in LA.
I don't use or want a Za$$erbox, but because they are cable to record ATSC 3.0 DRM's content ...

Re: Encryption
I wouldn't put much stock in their "future plans", given the current restrictions in place.
It's unknown exactly what they are really describing.
But as I interpret things they are not hindered by wanting to stream DRM content around the network to popular player devices which are themselves ...

From the first post in this thread:
Will DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels play on my Android or Fire TV device?
Using a gateway product - we expect it will be possible in the future but it is not possible today. The Google Widevine DRM decryption is possible but there are other requirements that ...
