Re: Encryption

I scrolled back and it has been 4 months since the last time someone politely asked for an update and was admonished for being high maintenance. I saw a firmware update drop this week but it doesn't look like it has anything related. Has SD just moved on?

As I understand how this works, the ...

Re: Encryption

Giving your post the benefit of the doubt as a sincere question, even though your last line makes me think you also are not interested in an actual exchange of ideas...

What makes me think SD might have something they could share in those two areas is literally nickk's post from yesterday. In the ...

Re: Encryption

There is weird and then there is whatever this is. Have a discussion about DRM and the motivations or don't, I won't hold it against SD either way. Jason posted this:

Re: Encryption

The world that exists outside of the United States. There's a huge market for US TV shows and sports outside internationally, and as with anything, piracy provides a cheaper way to access it, what with not having to pay copyright holders. The concern there is very real. Whether ATSC 3.0 DRM will ...

Re: Encryption

Looking at A3SA's PDF, something doesn't appear to be jibin' between what A3SA mandates for device manufacturers and the restrictions it says broadcasters cannot implement.

I kinda wish SD could inform its user base with details on their trials and tribulations with A3SA "certification" so we ...
