Re: ATSC 3.0: Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD

On a side note, they really should prevent autoscans from taking place overnight and mornings Autoscans?!? What autoscans? I don't think my 4K has ever changed the channel list without my explicitly requesting a rescan. Is that an HDHR thing or an app thing? And why can't you just disable it, and i...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

I should had said "free". Windows 10 indeed supports ATMOS, with the Dolby Access app in MS store. That's a 30 day free trial, but after that is $14.99. Oh wait... so they have a $.99 extension for HEVC for WMC, which I have NOT yet bought, because at this point I really only care about the signals...

Re: config_gui strange behavior

in phoenix I have noticed a strange behavior in config_gui that if I first tune 27 and then tune 35, the dropdown list shows all the streams from both physical channels... Reproduced here yesterday and just now going from RF25 out of Baltimore to RF30 out of DC, but only on the first try after inac...

Re: Has anyone managed to DX ATSC 3.0 KBRO-LD on rf ch. 2 via E-skip?

Tough ask. Most of the area that might get it via skip is just empty land or at most farmland, and KNOP and KHME are going to clobber it for a lot of places too. I got KNOP today. I am not posting because of the insane skip path of nearly 1000 miles. But that it was an ATSC 3.0 signal. The HDHR4K T...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021

Oh, you really don't want that - not enough bandwidth available. No, I really do want that, for the reasons I gave in the previously referenced AVS post. Note that I'm not saying there should only be a single PLP or that all the streams should be in it, just the "Big-4", as the FCC refers to them i...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD

And nickk, how about making access to the manifest.xml file a part of the standard firmware somehow? Assuming the parameters are pretty straight-forward, that would be a good way to get data onto RabbitEars about what the stations are up to on 3.0. How do you get it with the dev firmware? And what'...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021

Excellent move! Especially if they go in the same PLP with ABC and FOX. Oh, you really don't want that - not enough bandwidth available. No, I really do want that, for the reasons I gave in the previously referenced AVS post. Note that I'm not saying there should only be a single PLP or that all th...

It's a good idea, though.

More discussion on this point in AVS 3.0 thread.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021

Both KPHO and KPNX have filed to change their ATSC 3.0 hosts from KFPH-CD's RF 35 signal to KASW's RF 27 signal starting on July 8th. Excellent move! Especially if they go in the same PLP with ABC and FOX. More discussion on this point in AVS 3.0 thread . Yes, and both KTVK and KTAZ (Telmondo) will...

Re: tuner error 7063

Use the beta link for the Mac or Windows installers, and they will install the beta firmware: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/update#updating_from_a_windows_pc On the HDHomeRun Setup program, go to "Advanced", and then check the "Updates" check-box so that you can get the Beta software. Done and do...

Config GUI says the same. Same question.

tuner error 7063

I have a 4K running the RabbitEars automated band scanner here: https://m.rabbitears.info/index.php?request=tvdx_grid&tid=10802BCC&tno=1&sort=all&hours=6&tzone=ET&unit=&auto=Y Periodically the tuner just seems to go out to lunch. When I try to access it outside of the scanner, it responds with "ERRO...
