Force connection to channel to stay open?

I have major issues keeping a OTA channel locked in signal wise. Is there a way to make any software that connects to keep the stream open until I disconnect? (HDHR4K)

Re: Recording DRM

Spectrum can vary widely by market (and even vary in what most would think to be same market). Typically Charter was about 50/50, TWC was near 100% DRM, and Brighthouse though they did remove most DRM a few years prior to the merger, many locations switched back as they were put back in with "...

Re: Recording DRM

That’s definitely interesting. Here is a screen shot of the beginning of my channel lineup. https://www.dropbox.com/s/w43pzkgv71q4bcn/25A53DF1-5802-4223-9768-A85F8579D48F.png?dl=0 As you can see the local and public interest channels are not DRMed. Anything beyond those channels have a DRM logo nex...

Re: Recording DRM

Finally got the CableCard and Prime activated. No channels are DRM. Some I don’t subscribe to are marked out. I hope those that I do subscribe to, but are not locals stay DRM free.

Re: Recording DRM

I too joined the CableCard family. I already have to get Spectrum TV Choice Streaming. Since I can’t get some of my locals OTA, I bought a used Prime. I HOPE the locals DO NOT have DRM. But by what I’m reading that’s a toss up, and this whole venture might have been for naught. For my area if OTA wa...

Re: Wild S/N Fluctuations?

Thanks Nick for the explanation. I guess that drift off center, and the bit depth at that 256 level makes it need a VERY clean and strong signal. I really do hope they put their main signal on QAM16 in the end of this time window. 16 is perfect. 256 is made for city mainly. Even a technical document...

Wild S/N Fluctuations?

I might have asked this before. But I still can't figure out why 3.0 has such wild S/N (Signal Quality) Fluctuations? I can be on a QAM256 station, and the S/N go from 2% (I have the regular FW), to 45%, to 25%. Meaning it's all over the place. Sometimes it's like watching a progress bar. I don't ha...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Coming to St. Louis 9/23/2021 via KPLR

KPLR made their NextGen filing today, these will be their ATSC 1.0 simulcasts: 11.1 CW will be on KTVI's RF 33 signal 11.2 CourtTV will be on KDNL's RF 31 signal 11.3 Comet will be on KSDK's RF 35 signal 11.4 Rewind will be on KMOV's RF 24 signal Where are these filings viable on? I want to track C...

They have to keep the ATSC 1.0 broadcast going for a minimum of 5 years after they start broadcasting ATSC 3.0.
Yep.

Re: ATSC 3.0 Coming to St. Louis 9/23/2021 via KPLR

Am I reading that right, they are going to abandon ATSC 1.0 users and require 3.0 tuners? I know they will move. But even I as a "technology enthusiast", this reads like they are moving to 3.0 only. "If you currently use an antenna to watch KPLR 11 The CW and these subchannels for fr...

HDHR4K Overheating?

I noticed today while I was tuned to an ATSC 3.0 channel, my HDHR4K was very hot on the bottom. I flipped it over, figuring there was a heatsink there. That seemed to help. But should I worry next time about excess heat?

Thanks

Re: ATSC 3.0 on air in Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Michigan?

WXSP-CD (physical chanel 15) seems to have gone on-air with an ATSC 3 signal some time yesterday afternoon (April 30). Looks like WOLP-CD is still off-air for the transition. For the moment, it seems WXSP-CD is carrying all of the following: WXSP (the MyNetwork TV primary stream), WWMT, WOTV, WXMI,...

Re: config_gui strange behavior

Mine are still business as usual (Nashville, TN). I have noticed on the Config GUI though, that the Symbol Quality level seems to be weaker until I actively tune in/select a PLP manually on 3.0. I'm on latest FW. I also don't have the DEV FW. So I see percentage, not dB. SignCarver, I'm seeing a QAM...
