Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
I saw the 120.99 WMYD mobile channel was added recently - what exactly is that for? It seems like a lower bitrate version that is presumably easier for mobile devices to receive, so that’s what I suspect - though do any mobile ATSC 3.0 devices actually exist?

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
What kind of quality are people seeing on the ATSC 3.0 channels? In my experience, the video on ATSC 3.0 seems a tad inferior to ATSC 1.0. In particular, one thing I’m noticing is that white text (such as the ticker on sports) tends to have a rainbow tinge. I’ve seen this on multiple channels (7/62 ...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
The latest system software update for my Chromecast seems to have fixed the 107.1 stuttering issue. So that was indeed an issue with the Chromecast firmware.

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
Wondering if the issue could be specific to the Chromecast with Google TV - perhaps a bug in its HEVC decoder. If so, it would at least be helpful if SiliconDust could escalate the issue with Google...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
Did you reproduce the 107.1 Android video stuttering issue as well? I’ve been seeing that on my Chromecast with Google TV (unfortunately I have no other Android devices to test).

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
I just managed to get a capture (in debug mode) from 102.1 (WJBK in Detroit market) during which the HDHomeRun app crashed on my Chromecast with Google TV. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TGJMPx8YlTaSu9QDkqN6in_GOC7XzSLx/view?usp=sharing This happens every 5-10 minutes on that device, and I've noti...

Re: No Audio through Chromecast
If that is the case, then my TV must support AC4. A bit surprising given the lack of audio when using DLNA...

Re: No Audio through Chromecast
I have a Chromecast with Google TV and have audio on ATSC 3.0 channels, though I had no audio until the first firmware/software updates in early January. I’m not using any receiver - my Chromecast with Google TV is plugged directly into my Samsung NU8000 TV (which I am pretty sure does not support A...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
Apparently there is no free trial that I can find of the HDHomeRun DVR - it’s only available in one year subscriptions. Is there an alternative way I could use to get a recording? I’ve primarily been using Channels, so I could record with that. I see the stuttering video on 107.1/120.1 on both Chann...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
I was wondering - how should I do a recording, and where should I upload it? I could see if I could get one that crashes, and one with video that stutters on the Chromecast (that is limited to two channels on that device only). I don’t use the HDHomeRun DVR, but could sign up for the free trial...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
Same here (also in the Detroit market) - not having the issue with “no data” popping up when tuning to channels anymore. Still having other issues - in particular the HDHomeRun app crashing after 10min/stuttering on 107.1/120.1 on Chromecast with Google TV (Android TV). Not seeing that on my iPad, t...

Re: 12 Jan 2021
Just saw the new 20210118 firmware was out and updated. I wasn’t having any of the issues mentioned in the changelog, though I’ve noticed that my “no data” issue when changing ATSC 3.0 channels has seemingly gone away. Might a change in the new firmware have fixed this, or may it be a change impleme...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0 - Jan 2021
I’ve been experiencing the “no data” when changing channels as well, which I don’t recall happening before all of the January updates (though before then I didn’t have audio on my Chromecast with Google TV on the HDHomeRun app). Also seeing the HDHomeRun app consistently crashing after 10-20 minutes...

Re: Detroit ATSC 3.0
Is anyone having issues with video on WXYZ and WMYD? The latest updates fixed audio for me on the Chromecast with Google TV, but those two channels have laggy video that drops tons of frames. Curiously, this only happens on the Chromecast (my iPad is fine), and only those two channels...

Re: AC-4 Audio?
It seems like the Chromecast with Google TV works with AC-4 audio with the latest firmware and HDHomeRun app. I’m using it plugged directly into the TV (no receiver). Audio is a little bit out of sync, though...
