Re: How many PLPs for sub channels?
From what I'm seeing those stations require better than a 20dB SNR to receive PLP1. From your other posts, you say you are 74 miles from the transmitter and 2nd edge to boot. It's pretty hard to achieve that level of SNR that far out.

Re: How many PLPs for sub channels?
Multiple PLP's are not required to add more stations (streams) to the feed. This is true for adding full service streams or diginets. To send out more than one stream to air, no matter what the data rate, one simply fires up multiple encoders and aggregates them in the ROUTE encapsulater, signaling,...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
There has been no real difference on 35 for over a week as far as reception goes. (Same power, same mod/cod) Changing the stream content, Major-Minor number, or Short Name doesn't affect reception. Changing the number of streams doesn't affect reception either as long as the PLP is not over subscrib...

The windows player won't run today. The Setup utility does and will open VLC and play the video. The Config Gui utility will open VLC and play the video. The Windows player cannot find the tuners.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
We are back to a somewhat normal lineup on 35. The Univision App is taking up 2 Mbps of the available data rate, so AZPBS isn't there right now. I'm in the Seattle market but we also have the app data being broadcast on our Univision channel. Are you aware of how it is supposed to/will work? Is the...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
Thanks BobChase Great to have you in this Forum. Your welcome. Changed the lineup this morning for this weeks testing but the only visible "add" is 35.11. Same programing as 35.1 but on a different brand of encoder. The other three streams are invisible. The week after (10th) we will be back to the...

Nope, the only stream on 35 that you can see is 35.1, the rest of the streams are invisible.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
It's not a HDHR problem per se. It's most likely a problem with the encoder and I was hoping that Nick could address that - either here or in a PM so that I could get back to the encoder manufacturer.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
The encoder up on 35.11 probably has the CC dialed in the best in my stable of encoders. Other encoder brands are still a work-in-progresssigncarver wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 5:49 pm By the way, I loved the test channels on 35 last week as I actually had subtitles available on some other platforms.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
Channel 27 is problematic for some TV's as well as HDHR. It has to do with how they fill out the tables within the two PLP's. Channel 27 isn't problematic for the HDHomeRun - the PLP configuration is unusual but supported. I stand corrected!! On another note, could you tell me what you see wrong wi...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
Strange, 35 should be marginally better today. I had narrowed up the mod/cod by changing the preamble size and the FEC, so it should the required SNR is about 13 dB as opposed to 15.5 dB last week. It will change again tonight or tomorrow as I'm trying to see if I can get one brand of TV to macro-bl...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021
Yes Shaw Butte is on the air. Has been for over a month. We'll be doing testing next month on it, documenting the signal strength, measuring the null areas, adjusting the delay, etc. You might try 35 again and let me know. I was playing with the mod/cod earlier trying to see why one brand of TV has ...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix
When you scanned, you should have seen 108.1, 133.1, 135.1, 135.11 on RF ch35 today. 133.1 isn't presently watchable with SD HR but the rest of them on 35 are.
On RF ch27, there should be 115.1, 161.1, 110.1, 145.1. Of those 115.1 and 116.1 should be watchable the other two are not.

Re: 24 Dec 2020
Ok, new firmware update done just now. I’m in Portland market and was wondering if it’s normal for ATSC3 to not have Closed caption’s? ATSC1 channels that also have a ATSC3 equivalent displays the captions. While SD doesn't display CC on 3.0 channels, it's not all in SD's lap. I can stand up 4 diff...
