I think you said the problem in your post. Port their software. They are still in the software business and it would be a hefty price and or not able to due to patents.

My Apple TV is connected by wire and is the 2022 model. 30 to 90 seconds seems like a long time to sort out the smooth play. I would think this would happen within the first 10 seconds for buffering. Actually yes it does. But of course if you change channels then your back to the same until x amount of time.

Has anyone else noticed the app on Apple TV that it kinda herk and jerks like everything 6 or 7 seconds? I also have Channels DVR and this behavior doesn't happen and runs smooth while watching OTA tv.
