I did what you suggested, added the 35" wires to the middle of the antenna.

I can now receive 44.1 and 2.1! :)
The quality is not stellar, but is in the %60 range. Good enough for MythTV to tune and record now.

Hello, I have a home made antenna, followed plans from some DIY post. some plywood, foil covered backer, 3" off of the wire array. I can probably dig up the specs.... These channels used to come in very nice. Maybe they changes/upgraded at some point? (I do get 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, 25.1 in nicely...) Mayb...

Hello all, I have a Model: HDHR4-2US Firmware: 20190621 I am in Milford, MA with a good antenna in the attic. I pick up about 54 channels when I run the channel scan. The issue I have is Channels 2 and 44, both PBS. I get all the ".2" ".3" and ".4" channels, but not the ".1" high def channels. All o...
