Re: “This app is configured for surround sound. Use your TV’s remote to adjust the volume” nag. Again
After further investigating, it is indeed only on ATSC 3.0 stations, live and recorded. To put it another way, the only time it won't pop up that notification is when I'm watching ATSC 1.0 channels and have it set to stereo. Shouldn't I be able to use passthrough? I could when using optical.

Yep. I've tried every setting configuration on both the app and my TV. If I force stop the app, clear the data and cache and start it up and leave unconfigured, it stops doing it until I change the station or play a recording. The app and the TV has the latest updates.

“This app is configured for surround sound. Use your TV’s remote to adjust the volume” nag. Again
I have a Hisense mini-led FireTV. I have a Vizio soundbar hooked up via HDMI arc. When I use the TV’s remote to change the volume I get the above titled nag. Well, I am using the Tv’s remote. No matter what audio setting I set in HDHomerun flex 4k, or whether I set the TV’s audio to Dolby, PCM, Auto ...

Re: Encryption
I would say this is the do or die moment. After having the 4k fkex for a year now, and a year of promises by SD of being able at some point to update it via firmware to decrypt, if it can't do it after having all the specifications it will either be able to do it or not. If not, well they are going ...

Re: Encryption
I just looked at my Amazon Receipt for my 4k flex. Purchased March 9, 2023. Almost a year now with no solution for DRM.

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
As long as you let us continue to use the HDhomerun app, then I don't care about all of this. However if we are forced to use the Freecast app, I'll be really peeved cuz that's not what I purchased.
The hardware is pretty app agnostic -- I use my HDHR devices with Plex and Channels so I think ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
I'm jumping the gun here but looking at the Freecast service, it seems they are going to have a monthly fee. Wonder how that's going to play out with all the purchasers who don't have the DVR service. I have the $35 yearly DVR subscription and if that changes to a $4.99 monthly fee, I'm gonna be ...

My fear is that it's an aggregator. Which means ads!! Not sure I can deal with that for a service I'm paying for.nickk wrote: Thu Aug 10, 2023 4:32 pm Freecast is using HDHomeRun tuners for local channels.
It is being polished. Announcements in the works.
