Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
I also would like to see a new tutorial for those on DSM 7. My old Synology NAS blew up in a lightning storm and now with my new Synology I'm forced into DSM 7.

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Yesterday I connected my new HDHR5-4K. I had a recording scheduled last night but it did not record. The multiple error messages I got were Recording: myhdhomerun_record authorization error or not subscribed to dvr service All I did was powered down my media panel, which turned off everything, inclu...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Thanks Rik, for the script tweak. I'll give it a try. I was contemplating on getting a UPS, among other emergency equipment good to have during extensive blackouts. Thanks too for advising to look for USB monitoring capabilities.

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Is pretty simple.. When your NAS loses power like that it doesn't cleanly unmount the disks Then when you power back up it doesn't mount them blindly - it does a check of the disks, and that can delay making them available to the system. Now to the script. On starting the NAS it tries to execute th...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Looking for anyone to help on this slight problem. Whenever my Synology NAS loses power, whether by power outage or unplugged, and the NAS then starts back on when power is restored, my HDHomeRunDVR engines does not restart, yet when I go into the DiskStation Manager (DSM) it shows the engine as run...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Hi Rik,
Just wanted to let you know that I upgraded to latest firmware and record engine without problems, once I stopped and started the record engine. It was definitely easier and quicker than packages prior to 1.1
Thanks

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
I've thought about the UID 1027 that it created and was thinking that it could only have created it if all instances of user hdhomerundvr was removed. Otherwise, if it started adding hdhomerundvr before complete removal, wouldn't it have used the same UID? Just wondering.

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
hmmm... Odd yeah - you need to re-chown the folders, e.g. sudo chown -R hdhomerundvr /volume1/HDHomeRunDVR In the upgrade of the package it will remove the hdhomerundvr user and then re-add them. I believe this is the root cause here - for some reason the UID on your system is incrementing which us...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Hi Rik, I installed 1.0.1 and lost access to my recordings again. If you recall last week, I chown in the HDHomeRunDVR directory to hdhomerundvr:http and was able to see my recordings through the app and via the SiliconDust web page. After installation of 1.0.1 the owner:group for all my recordings ...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
It's very odd that the new recordings don't show up but the old ones do.. I would have expected if anything the other way round. To clarify, I can not see any recordings, old or new. Not with the app, or going to the Silicon Dust page (NAS-IP:59090). Going to "recording" on the TV app sta...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Hello Rik. Well, another problem solved, another to take its place. Let me start by saying I first unistalled the HDHomeRunDVR package (V 0.8.3), then I installed the latest verion (1.0). After doing so, I am having a slight problem with new and old recordings. I can schedule a recording via the HDH...

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
2 Items First, about 2 weeks ago, I upgraded to beta release 20200121beta1 and noticed that it removed all permissions for administrators to the HDHomeRunDVR folder, not sure why that happened. It only allows the http group, and that is set at a customized permission. Was this by design or it should...
