Re: Best options for streaming to roku tv

Does Emby run a NAS based DVD or does it require a dedicated Windows PC? I tried Emby way back on a PC to Roku but I am staying a the NAS based DVR. Saw a lot of Firestick 4K issues. Mine is the older square puck that is no longer sold. Hope the new ones get resolved. Mine runs HDHR very well. Thank...

Re: HDHR DVR expandibilty & limitations?

Thank you so much for the detailed replies. Very informative & useful for my plans. You are correct that I have Premium & Prime confused. CableCard don't really get one into cord-cutting mode. I am hoping OTA for local w streaming service will provide a hybrid solution. Premium vs YouTube TV favors ...

HDHR DVR expandibilty & limitations?

<t>In my search for a NAS based DVR, I ended up with HDHR Quattro & DVR running on WD-MyCloud, both hardwired on GB Ethernet. So far so good. I ran into the same noted complaints on DVR issues like non-English selections and series recording repeats. Hopefully, those'll improve in time. Overall,...

Re: Best options for streaming to roku tv

I am new to HdHomerun DVR but have tested it on all the ways to drive a big-screen HDTV using HDMI (1080i/720p & Dolby 5.1). My key expectation is that it must be usable by non-techie users using a remote control. FireTV (stick & 4K) Works well with GUI & viewing. The older stick tends to be WiFi se...

Re: Migrating DVR from one NAS to another

Thanks, I'll try that.

The WD MyCloud works well but my Plex server is on the Synology and cannot see the DVR on the WD side. In any case, I will have more HDD space on the Synology NAS.

Migrating DVR from one NAS to another

New to Homerun and HomeDVR. Mainly interested on NAS based DVR and Homerun seems the only working one. I had initially setup the HomeDVR as a test on a WD NAS drive and it is working fine. However, I now want to migrate it to my main NAS which is 4 drive Synology NAS. I am hoping for directions and ...
