Re: Studios Sue Omniverse in TV Streaming Crackdown

No problem, we'll just all go back to using our HDHomeRun Prime 6.

Re: 2-week free preview -- looks promising

Let me correct that. I don’t dislike Channels; I like the HDHomeRun interface on mac better. I love Channels. But I agree - Their Mac interface stinks. Because they don't have one; all they have is a web interface. But I found a pretty cool way around it. There is an app called Fluid (and it's free...

Re: Last bill processed at 34.99?

They have added nothing to the service but have lost 15% of their channels They've also been busy announcing (and never actually releasing) new hardware. Like the Prime 6 - Announced over a year ago and it still has not seen the light of day. And now the Scribe and Servio have been announced, also ...

Re: Last bill processed at 34.99?

I just got billed for $35 also. I am becoming increasingly dissatisfied with this service. Terrible video quality, missing channels, and now billing issues. I might give this one more month and if it doesn't improve, I am out.

Re: Hallmark, Discovery Channel, HGTV, TLC, Food Network, Animal Planet, Travel Channel & OWN

It has now been a month and a half since the channels were dropped. Sure, the holidays got in the way and slowed down contract negotiations. But we are now at the end of January. Is there ANY update on this? nickk???

Re: 2-week free preview -- looks promising

I like the HDHomeRun app on macOS. I'm hoping to see an Apple TV edition in the future. I'm not thrilled with Channels, but I agree it's much better than Plex.
Just curious - What don't you like about Channels?

Plex is great for watching your video library, but it is God awful for live TV. Download the Channels app for your Apple TV and iOS devices. It is far and away better than Plex and the HDHomeHun app. It is a little pricey, but well worth the investment. You won't be sorry! https://getchannels.com/

Sure, but with limited resources, wouldn't it make more sense to focus on making a few things amazing rather than a lot of things mediocre?

Re: Lon's interview with SD CEO

The feeling I got from this video is that SD has been too overly focused on rolling out new products and trying to stay ahead of the competition. [removed by moderator - see forum rules]. Consequently, the Prime 6 (announced over a year ago) still has not been released. They can't even make the orig...

Re: Stage 2?

An update on this would be great. The current quality of the video streams just aren't quite good enough. I usually have a big group at my place for March Madness. I will feel less than happy to show the content in it's current state. Let's not sugar coat it. :) . The current quality is really bad....

Re: Hallmark Channel - screw ups

Nick/Nate,
I understand it is in the hands of the lawyers now. Is there a contingency plan if this falls through? Is there another route you can go to provide a fuller selection of channels? Or if this doesn't work out, we're stuck with what we have?

Re: Scribe and dvr services

SD doesn't really have the best track record with hardware announcements. Where is the Prime 6 that was announced at last year's CES?? Not to mention all of the missing channels with their Premium TV service. I think they need to focus on fixing what they have before announcing anything else new...

Re: Question for Admin about today's announcement.

Nick, thank you for your explanation of the 8 channel fix. But please clarify... There are 8 additional channels that have in fact been permanently removed? Is SD in negotiations to get them back? I was planning on cutting the cable this week and signing up for Premium service. I have been very exci...

Re: Confused about the 8 channel issue

So that was a temporary issue... But there are still 8 different channels that have been permanently removed?? SD originally advertised 45 channels for $34.99. Now, according to their channels list, there are only 37.

Confused about the 8 channel issue

nickk recently posted in the Health/Status thread [https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=129&t=69262] that the 8 channel issue has been resolved. What exactly does this mean? Are all missing channels now returning to Premium TV? Or will there still be some channels missing? If so, what...
