Re: No Internet, No App????

Ned, you are being disingenuous here. The whole point of this thread is not that the HDHR hardware is unusable without a current internet connection. The point of this thread is that SiliconDust's first-party HDHR SOFTWARE is unusable without an active internet connection. We are all aware that the...

Re: Does SD make a tuner with transcoder?

At the moment we do not have a product with built-in transcoding. If you are not using our DVR service, Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin are options that can be set up on a mini PC or certain NAS models that will transcode on-the-fly. The Nvidia Shield Pro can also transcode-record on-the-fly with a USB har...

Re: Signal Issues

Signals don't look too strong. If anything, they're a bit weak. Red line is signal strength, how "loud" a signal is Blue line is signal quality, or how "clear" the data can be heard X is signal frequency, Y is percentage Each blue line or red spike is most likely a transmission at a given frequency ...

Re: HDHR5 Loss of channels/signal strength - hancox

My HDHR5 is currently in this bad state. Ran a couple of manual scans, no channels detected. I’ll keep it in this state for a while. Let me know if you need more info, @nickk. Please e-mail us at support@silicondust.com, mention this thread, and we will arrange for a replacement. Sent a follow-up m...

Re: HDHR4-2US "no video data" problem with latest beta firmware - kajhglksdjfhglk

It's only intermittent in that everything works perfectly after rebooting the HDHomeRun. After a few days though, nothing works. Can't tune to any channels, channel scan comes up empty. Reboot box, channel scan finds 98 channels, tuner works great. This has been a solid setup for years until I deci...

Re: No Internet, No App????

NedS, Sorry this is just flat out incorrect. Our internet has gone out in the past, and just today and HD HomeRun does not work without internet period ! I have a normal internet set up with candle modem, router etc. Nothing. iOS devices/apps - will not even start, black screen Nvidia Shields - wil...

Re: HDHR4-2US "no video data" problem with latest beta firmware - kajhglksdjfhglk

Is it intermittent? The signal levels look good, but there's some spikes of high RF in the VHF band, which could point to some RF interference. A little bit in the UHF band where cellphone towers operate, so it could be harmonics from that. An LTE filter might help out.

Looks like Gracenote doesn't have a specific listing yet, but I mapped in the national listing. How does it look?

Re: Does SD care about Apple TV?

Not only do we care a lot about the Apple TV, our development team is hard at work finishing up the recording system and fixing bugs. Apple wouldn't let us use the interface we use for other platforms when it comes to Apple TV, so the Apple TV's UI had to be rebuilt from the ground up. It might look...

Re: New firmware questions

Just asked Nick, he said 20210422 can be considered stable, but some additional fixes were found right after making the build, so it hasn't been pushed out to the webUI or download links yet. 20210422 will install when using the Windows or Mac beta installer for some devices, but the FLEX will get a...

Re: HDHomeRun on Chromecast with Google TV

"Chromecast with Google TV" fully supports all recording features when paired up to a SCRIBE/SERVIO or DVR software on a PC, Mac, NAS, or other Android host. The only DVR-related feature not supported is using the Google TV as the DVR storage, as it does not support the correct file formats for a lo...

Re: HDHR Apps - Windows 10 & Android Stutter

Try using the latest HDHomeRun app beta from google play, or un-enroll from the beta program, (DO NOT UNINSTALL IF USING ANDROID FOR DVR) uninstall, then reinstall, to get back onto the stable version.

Re: Recoding issues on PC

Your DVR logs are showing that the DVR can't seem to write fast enough for some of the recordings. I doubt it's a CPU-power issue, but rather some other I/O bottleneck. How much RAM does the Chromebox have?
