Re: Encryption
So is this a way to get PBS (and a few other independents) to turn on DRM? Ugggh.
The security certificate is separate from DRM, and a non-DRM channel can have a certificate. The basic idea is that a security certificate is a way to make sure a broadcaster is who they say they are, and not a ...

Re: Tuner or NAS DVR Unit - How to determine which is having issues?
First thing I would try is to update the DVR software on the NAS. It looks like you are running a version from 2021. Run through the installation steps and it will update, keeping all of the old recordings: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/dvr:nas ... stallation

Re: Not recording network programming
Go to http://hdhomerun.local and see if there is a firmware update. There's a minor bug in the Apple TV app where the firmware notice says "communication error" instead.

Apple TV bug, it's supposed to be showing that a firmware update is available, but it says "communication error" by mistake.

Re: DVR Active "No" After Email Change
Changing the e-mail address basically resets the DVR account. I will ask Nick to merge the old address account to the new address account, and we will e-mail you the new activation code.

Re: Roku player error: malformed data - BigRic
Roku works overwhelmingly with over-the-air broadcasts, which is the bulk of our users. When we came out with the Roku version of our app we had already discontinued the PRIME, but we were able to bring the PRIME back for one last production run. Roku actually improved their video player a little ...

Re: Roku player error: malformed data - BigRic
Unfortunately there's not much that can be done in that situation when it comes to Cable TV channels in the Roku app. They tend to have extra data that confuses the Roku video player.

Can we have you run through those steps again? I'm not getting any debug data on either of your units.

Re: Synology DVR not recording
Something is preventing the DVR on the NAS from communicating to our servers, but I see enough diagnostic data to know that the NAS can talk to the HDHomeRun, and the HDHomeRun is talking to our servers. Odd. I will try to find you an answer, maybe I can replicate the issue on my own Synology.

A new splash animation is being worked out that will be a shorter, loop-able animation, only playing for as long as needed.

Re: Encryption
I still don't see how merely having a SoC from a now officially banned Chinese mfr. Without the necessary communication I/O hardware and firmware running on a consumer video gateway device. Can possibly be a security threat to anything?
And if there's no actual decryption of content to take place ...
