Re: HDHR DVR -> MCEBuddy -> Plex Config?

To add on to ACraigo's excellent advice is that a huge benefit to the MCEBuddy Donator version is that you can strip ads and it can also convert from the raw MPEG2 (MPEG4 if you have an Extend, which you should disable anyway if you're transcoding it with MCEBuddy) and transcode it into H.265 HEVC ...

Re: HDHR DVR -> MCEBuddy -> Plex Config?

thanks for that! I tried using %premiereyear% as I saw it suggested somewhere else and it did not work. I will try this tonight! Re: the whole 'point your Plex library to the HDHR Recordings folder', I think this might work for movies, but I don't see how it would work for TV shows. thanks again! T...

Re: HDHR DVR -> MCEBuddy -> Plex Config?

I would like to post-process and move movies recorded by the HDHR DVR to my Plex library. Has anybody figured out how to use regular expressions inside of MCEBuddy for this specific thing? It seems like movies in HDHR DVR are saved as "<MovieName> <ReleaseDate>[<RecordDate>].mpg". I think ultimatel...

Wouldn't it be more helpful if you had a support ticket open and sent an email to them referencing the ticket everytime instead of posting in this forum?
Depends on who it helps.

The best way to deal with something buggy is to drag it out into the light.

Re: Homerun and Roku

Easiest way is to use the Roku Player and DLNA. Until you actually use RMP and DLNA (that won't work with MPEG2 on "Most" Rokus), then almost any expense is warranted building a Plex/Emby system to display TV on your Roku properly - don't spare the horses 'cause ur gonna need 'em (read: powerful se...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

No it won't! At any rate, I find my solution to be the most cost effective. It is quicker to skip commercials when they're marked and if the marker is misplaced none of the content is missing. A reasonable, low cost solution that works well for us. Yea, I got ad removal covered, as should most user...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

Which was actually the point I was trying to make, that to do it right costs real money, so commercial companies offering such a capability need to either step up, or step away. And since most people want no commercials until they are expected to pay for the privilege, most companies should probabl...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

The solution (by the big players) that works reasonably well uses various combinations of heuristics, AI, and human validation to create an accurate skip-list for the network feeds (usually available a few hours after broadcast). In other words, spending real money and providing a paid service (or ...

Re: Comskip with HDhomerun DVR

NedS: there clearly is interest in skipping commercials. Why not add support to read the output of comskip into the hdhomerun dvr? I'm not a programmer, so I can't promise anything or really comment on how easy or hard it would be to add the feature. I'd certainly welcome any feature that would lim...

Re: Will an amplifier help a fringe channel?

Pretty frustrating > have the huge Wiengaud hanging nicely from the rafters pointing mostly out the side of the house with some pointing through the edge of the roof. I'm getting 100% signal strength but only 45% Quality and no symbol quality. Why would a signal be 100% but the rest is poor? Edit, ...

... and if you have the eyes of a teenager you can read the names on those images, if you don't, they're a blurry blob of color. Designed on a monitor by a guy with teenage vision, intended for display on a 32" TV across the room for use by the legally blind. Good Plan. In the example above, Por Si...

Re: New UI - SD tickles me

The titlecards should always contain the program name. If you find a titlecard that doesn't contain the program name (ie isn't actually a titlecard) please let us know. Nick I think you missed the point. You have to select each program in order to read the program name, one at a time. What good is ...

Re: Antenna recommendations?

...And yeah, I think these antennas are pretty crappy for the price paid etc. Seems strange that they advertise it with the HDHR box. People are going to get sick of the poor signal and go back to cable if they associate themselves with a crappy product. You can make the best networked TV box on ea...
