Re: Tuner confusion

I have the Homerun Duo, if I record a program lets say for 3 mins (testing) and then stop/delete said recording it does not release the tuner back until the program stops airing, then if I want to change channel I get "Unable to play channel All tuners in Use" - I'm not sure if this by design but v...

Re: The This Old House Hour recording same "new" episode multiple times

Can't you just go into your tuner setup and remove that SD channel?
Then what about all those shows that only run on the SD Channel?
No Soup For Them?
The work-around murders the patient - but the bug is killed.
Success! (no, not really)

Re: The This Old House Hour recording same "new" episode multiple times

MCEBuddy simply lets you choose a folder for it to watch. It then can run conversion tasks and then you choose where the file is saved to. I've had it setup this way since when I used MCE. I think there were other reasons that I kept it this way, but I can't remember. I think mostly to keep things ...

Re: The This Old House Hour recording same "new" episode multiple times

The record engine will typically select one of the multiple options.
Unfortunately - very often - the wrong one (because 'the user' has no control over the operation - unless they want to hack up a work-around for something that WMC did instantly and perfectly).

Re: The This Old House Hour recording same "new" episode multiple times

It's a common occurrence for just about anything post WMC... and good luck getting anyone to believe there's actually a problem with the way they can't make that work right.

Re: Ignore Movies folder in Plex ?

I solve that problem with... The Rube Goldberg Video Manipulation Conglomerate Phase Rectifier: http://fishmojo.com/posts/rube1.jpg ;) At my house everything recordable goes through MCEBuddy and is either converted or remuxed for Direct Play on any local or remote client in the Plexiverse. Painless...

Re: Ignore Movies folder in Plex ?

LMAO … I wouldn't have to use Plex if the HDHomerun had a way for diff users to keep their watch status. That is also what I hate about Channels DVR. Agreed. lol All I know is Plex Employees and Ninjas alike ALWAYS tell folks NOT to do what you're doing, and if you continue don't be surprised when ...

Re: Ignore Movies folder in Plex ?

Just wait until one of those Plex Employees (working from a feces stained Yurt somewhere in what is commonly known as a boil on the pucker-string of the Earth) 'retrogrades' Plex to a previous state (about 2 weeks ago) and dynamic storage (like your DVR storage) throws Plex into a tailspin, the wing...

Re: Signal strong enough?

OK. I'll take ya'lls word for it - 'cause I ain't never going to find out how well it works for myself... lol I would LOVE to see a side-by-side test, in a deep or at least not shallow, fringe area of Old Googly-Eyes and a similarly sized Yagi or Log Periodic. Both units would be installed at the sa...

Re: Signal strong enough?

Wind can kinda blow through the back screen, but when you add the back screen and those big surface areas in the google-eyes - you got wind loading. Way more than a traditional design and one that will out-perform it easily. I know why the google-eye are wide plates and not the traditional element a...

Re: Signal strong enough?

Antennas Direct ClearStream 2V is a piece of junk. A $100 piece of junk to boot. What's wrong with the C2V? I've found it to be a perfectly reasonable midsize antenna for areas with adequate UHF and good VHF signals. Yes, it lacks directionality on VHF, and the dipole is sized for channel 7 so it f...

Re: Signal strong enough?

Was that on a HAM? No. The Wire was 180 Meters long (and technically a 'Long Wire'), but the transmission was nestled in a particularly quiet section of 11 Meters (No Man's Land - Argh Matey). Was sitting at the radio one of those mornings around 2AM talking to some other usual early morning contac...

Re: Signal strong enough?

Everyone get out your rulers, it's time to see who has the longest antenna. *ducks* (I'm sorry, it was just too easy of a joke to leave alone...) I win - with a 180 Meter Long Wire I used to contact a ship on the Indian Ocean (pretty much the other side of the orb - which isn't that hard really).

Re: Signal strong enough?

Well you are wrong. I went from 4 channels to 100 channels that are 65 miles away through multiple mountain ranges. I did this on both a Clearstream 4 Max and an HD Frequency. If you haven't tried it then don't act like an expert. I have pictures. I have graphs proving this. I watched demonstration...

Re: Signal strong enough?

You need to add a homemade reflector behind it. You can make it out of cheap fencing and PVC like I did. Ping me Friday afternoon original Saturday morning. I will help you through this I will try but my work schedule is a bit all over the place the next week or so. Also, do you have a picture of t...
