Re: How To Get 20190410beta1 For Update With Linux HDHomeRun Config GUI?

Update This happened when I did the update: https://www.linxnet.com/misc/images/Home_Theater/HDHR_Update_Error.png despite the fact it would appear it actually did update. Unfortunately, I can't tell if the update actually fixes the problem here, because it's blowing like stink outside, and that giv...

How To Get 20190410beta1 For Update With Linux HDHomeRun Config GUI?

As the subject says: How do I get the 20190410beta1 upgrade image so I can upgrade our CONNECT Quatro from the Linux HDHomeRun Config GUI? It's not available at Download - 20190410beta1.

Re: OTA station has pixelation with 100% signal

Looks like WWJ-TV, Channel 62 in Detroit, is doing it again. Neither the TV nor the Channel Master DVR+, whether on the same antenna or on a Winegard FlatWave Amped, exhibit any problems.

I've submitted a trouble ticket requesting the Beta firmware for our CONNECT Quatro.

Re: No IPv6 compatibility?

IPv6 has been around for many years (it was formalised in 1998), ... And it's been a roaring PITA ever since the IETF threw that over-designed, everything- and -the-kitchen-sink spec over the wall. My feeling about IPv6 is that, unless you have a real need for it, or are a masochist, it's best to a...

Re: Signal strong enough?

ACraigo, I have more than a little experience with antenna and transmission line theory and design, myself. I, too, have designed and fabricated my own antennas. So, like you, I, too, was sceptical of the googly-eyed antenna. Thing is, though: A buddy of mine has one of those on his cabin-top out in...

Re: How to transmit wifi to non-smart TV's?

... I'd already been burned by the MiBox 3 and wasn't going to take another chance on one. It's in my junk drawer now, getting ready for spring cleaning. Both of our MiBox 3's have been replaced by Xiaomi with MiBox S'. The first one bricked itself so badly it wouldn't even display the splash scree...

Re: HDHR Prime wasting electricity

If they also turn off the tuner, that is a power to a few thousand homes saved right there. If they can sleep the entire device, that is a power plant saved.
Exaggerate much? Image

Re: OTA station has pixelation with 100% signal

Thanks for keeping on top of this, Jason!

I never filed a ticket for WWJ-TV because, about a week after the problem last re-appeared, it somehow resolved itself. *shrug*

Re: Netgear powerline 1000 adapters

This is a particularly bad solution, IMO. That 50Mb/s is almost certainly not an error-free 50Mb/s, so it would struggle even with only two HD channels simultaneously. As for "Heat in the attic [an] issue, yes it can be.": More likely it almost certainly will be. Depending upon how well-ventilated a...

Re: How to transmit wifi to non-smart TV's?

The least expensive options are probably MiBox S Android TV devices and Amazon FireTV devices. It's difficult to recommend either. The Xiaomi MiBox S, because their MiBox 3's were such an unmitigated disaster. OTOH: They replaced both of our problematical MiBox 3's with MiBox S' under warranty, and ...

Re: Am I overreacting about this NAS

I have purchased many electronic items from Newegg throughout the years, without any issues. I have never had any problems with RMA's from them. Personally, I only purchase items from Amazon as a very last resort.
Same experience with Newegg. Same policy wrt Amazon.

Re: Am I overreacting about this NAS

I'd contact their CS and bring my concerns to their attention. I wouldn't be pleased with the condition of that product packaging, either, and I'm not a novice wrt such things.
