Re: List of Hardware and Software that Supports Dolby AC-4
Are you using the HDHomerun app, or just as a UPnP/DNLA media device? Btw, I believe the CX and other 2020 LG OLEDs should have ATSC 3.0 tuners builtin to the TV already. So that is another avenue to tune to the channels if you're so inclined. The GX has the ATSC 3.0 tuner but not the CX or below. ...

Re: List of Hardware and Software that Supports Dolby AC-4
Here's another data point... I picked up a LG OLED CX TV this weekend. The WebOS sees the HDHR on my network as a multimedia device. I can stream TV from it and it happily plays the PDX ATSC 3.0 streams with audio and video. Pretty stable as well...

Re: AC-4 Audio?
Well, I'm gonna give the VLC build a rest. I've spent the better part of a week building and testing for Win64 with limited success. Adding the ffmpeg AC-4 branch to the build did not enable AC-4 audio playback as I had hoped so there have to be more adjustments that need to be made that are outsid...

Re: AC-4 Audio?
VLC is a dumpster fire in terms of building. Problems range from regression errors to broken scripts. I spent a day and a half trying to build it against the AC-4 branch and whenever I fixed one problem it would expose 3 more so I'm giving up for now. I've been trying as well but I can't figu...

Re: AC-4 Audio?
I was able to compile Kodi 18.9 against the ffmpeg AC-4 branch. Playing ATSC 3.0 stream captures from the PDX market worked well and audio seemed find. I cannot confirm if it was correct channel 5.1 because this was being done on my desktop rather than HTPC (headphone only on my desktop). Live TV wa...

Re: AC-4 Audio?
That branch is against the main trunk. I compiled a 4.3.x version and Kodi now plays audio for ATSC 3.0 Dallas, TX stations (H.265 + AC-4). I expect it will take a few months for slower distributions to get ffmpeg 4.4 / 5.0 that will carry this support, but we'll be there much sooner than I guessed...

This has been a great discussion.... Thanks much for the insight!
Also explains why the ATSC3 is running with such low bandwidth here. In many cases it looks much worse than it's ATSC 1.0 counterpart...

Re: 8 Nov 2020
Got the app update on my Oneplus 7T phone. I now have audio on ATSC3 stations. I need to test more but for some reason a few channels in the PDX area only had audio in the left ear. Bitrates are PATHETIC!!! PDX 2.1 (KATU the ABC station) is between 1.5 Mbps and 2.5 Mbps. The ATSC 1.0 KATU looks much...

From: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/portland-or-hdtv.168423/post-60212522 Just as a comment, KOXO RFch.15 returned to the air with its ATSC3 signal a week or two ago. However, it's at a much reduced power. But I don't pick it up at all... Yes, that post is why I asked. Linley lacks an ATSC 3.0 r...
