Re: Connect4k Tuner Strength

Do you have any signal amplification going on? Some of your signals are coming in at 137% signal strength. Since HDHRs can report percentages higher than 100% to SD, why do Config GUI and other local reports stop at 100%? Wouldn't it be more useful if they reported the higher percentages to the use...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Portland: QUATRO 4K

From: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/portland-or-hdtv.168423/post-60212522 Just as a comment, KOXO RFch.15 returned to the air with its ATSC3 signal a week or two ago. However, it's at a much reduced power. But I don't pick it up at all... Yes, that post is why I asked. Linley lacks an ATSC 3.0 r...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Portland: QUATRO 4K

Yep all gone. I thought someone in this thread was associated with the Portland area broadcasters. Is there any info on where one would look, as a consumer (and tax-payer) to see the broadcast status or notifications on frequency changes or takedowns? I thought there was as well... At any rate, I s...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Portland: QUATRO 4K

Can you please try manually tuning the physical channel using HDHomeRun Config GUI then posting a screenshot so I can see the PLP information. Nick Is this what you are looking for? Here is what a command line scan for that frequency shows as well.. SCANNING: 569000000 (us-bcast:30) LOCK: atsc3 (ss...

Working audio or video hardware

I've seen scattered through different threads people who are giving reports of hardware/software success (or failure) on audio and visual for the ATSC 3.0 broadcasts in their area. I thought it may be useful to have a thread to consolidate what people are seeing. In my case for the PDX area: Android...

Re: ATSC 3.0 in Mobile/Pensacola

I think that VLC is not reporting correctly. Here's the same file from mediainfo. What's strange is the video is showing 59.940 FPS and the audio shows 29.970 FPS: General ID : 1 (0x1) Format : MPEG-TS File size : 18.9 MiB Duration : 28 s 212 ms Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 55...

Re: ATSC 3.0 in Mobile/Pensacola

So I ask, is a frame rate of 29.97 for an ATSC 3.0 transmission of an "interlaced" HEVC video at 1920x1080i within the ATSC standards? I think it is technically allowed, but it should probably be considered a crime against humanity to broadcast interlaced HEVC video. Try Portland, Oregon. I might u...

Re: AC-4 Audio?

There are many software systems (Kodi, plex, VLC, handbrake, MCEBuddy...) that use FFmpeg, so the key to getting the ball rolling on various systems is to get AC-4 implemented in FFmpeg. There is an FFmpeg enhancement ticket that is currently marked as PRIORITY: WISH. if enough people logon to the ...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Portland: QUATRO 4K

I'm a linux user here in the PDX region... Playing around with the latest firmware and VLC. I'm a bit confused... In a scan, both the ATSC1.0 and ATSC3.0 show up as the same virtual channel numbers (notice 8.1 KGW): SCANNING: 569000000 (us-bcast:30) LOCK: atsc3 (ss=100 snq=100 seq=100) PROGRAM 1: 49...

Re: Arrived today...

My HDHR5-4k arrived today. I have it configured in MythTV on Linux, and it appears to be working. I was having dropouts on channels with 100% signal strength, 100% Signal Quality, and 100% symbol quality when watching live TV using VLC started through the HDHomeRun Config GUI, but seemed to work wi...
