Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

IMO, a user notice at the beginning of the installation that there may be up to 2(?) restarts to complete the job would be a good gesture.

Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

OK, so the installations were needed, but I expect that one could delay the Windows restart to at least follow the second C++ package, if not the HDHR update as well. No? The way it stands, one is guided to 2 restarts and 3 launches of the HDHR installer, which seems not user friendly. EDIT: I just ...

Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

@nickk, thanks I've confirmed that the 01/22/20 beta package fixed the "ssss" save response issue. However, there appears to be an issue with its installer. I was prompted to let it install the C++ redistributable stuff, which was not requested when installing the 06/21/19 package, but I consented. ...

Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

Also, I've just confirmed that the problem does not occur with HDHR5-4US tuners.

BTW, all tuners are on their latest firmware, but the HDHR-US and HDHR3-US ones are from 9/2017, while the HDHR5-4US firmware is from 6/2019.

Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

Perhaps to clarify, here is the DOS box record of two captures that show this problem: C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun>hdhomerun_config.exe 103AEA6C set /tuner0/channel 8vsb:12 C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun>hdhomerun_config.exe 103AEA6C save /tuner0 "D:\30-sec_full-ts.ts" ..............

Re: Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

OK, I've made a 30-second full-ts (72-MB) file. I'm not sure what you're going to learn from it though. Both unfiltered and filtered captures are fine, it's just the diagnostic character stream that's dorked in the latter case.

How do I transmit this file to you?

Bug found in 6/21/2019 windows software

Hi, Nick! I've just updated my Windows 10 systems to the June 2019 software (to get the viewer app to work with my older HDHR tuners) and I've discovered that the stream of diagnostic characters sent every second by HDHomerun_config.exe when using the save command after selecting a program substream...

HDHomeRun App command-line channel setting

Hi, Nick! I've learned that one can start the HDHomerun app with the following command: start shell:appsfolder\EF712BA7.HDHomeRunDVR_23nna27hyxhag!App But, unlike MSFT Edge, the app seems to ignore any parameters on that command line and simply restarts with the previously viewed channel. How about ...

Re: DRM Windows 10 app C# embed

^ Bump. I'm concerned that my question got buried by whatever OP replied that the moderator didn't like. Is there an API to launch the Win10 app with a channel-setting parameter from a command line?

Re: DRM Windows 10 app C# embed

Ultimately there may be some sort of option for others to create custom UIs to use with the app, but it's not likely to happen any time soon. Jason, forgetting the custom UI bit, is there a way to launch the Win10 HDHR app with a Guide Number parameter? The Cliff Watson EPG program used to do that ...
