Re: Encryption
“One of the things we are doing different is using lower thirds to say ‘HDR only available on NextGen TVs,” says Anne Schelle, managing director of Pearl TV, a business alliance of eight major TV station groups dedicated to advancing NextGen TV. “There are over 80 million HDR-enabled households in ...

Re: Encryption
A3SA had only provided a path forward for Android platforms at the moment. I have been given the impression that a non-technical issue/disagreement is currently blocking progress on that. Nick is still working on a public shame letter addressed to the A3SA and other relevant authorities.
We ...

Re: Encryption
Will DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels play on my Apple TV, iPad, iPhone, Mac?
No. ATSC 3.0 uses Google Widevine DRM encryption which is a competitor to Apple FairPlay DRM encryption. This issue is not specific to the HDHomeRun product. A3SA is aware of the problem. There is no solution at this ...

I'm close to in the same boat. Main use case was to be able to supplement my TV service with out-of-market (but working on the ...
