This also happens on FTV.

Re: Fire TV 4K HDHomeRun app issues

The top is the Nvidia Shield - great picture quality Well, except for the VPU bug that impacts some people with some specific (OTA) stations. I saw one report the VPU bug is fixed in Turing (I have no way to test that report). That, and you buy almost 8 4k sticks for the price of one shield on Prim...

Re: Fire TV 4K HDHomeRun app issues

5.1 is available when the Fire TV box/stick is connected to the receiver via HDMI and surround sound is enabled in the FireTV settings (if applicable). If it's connected to the TV and using ARC to send sound to the receiver you will not get 5.1 audio because ARC doesn't have enough bandwidth for mu...

Hi,

If you are using audio over HDMI and you turn off AC3 passthrough you should still get 5.1 audio.

Nick
This has not been my experience on FTV. There continues to be sound on all the channels, but it's clearly not surround sound.

Re: Bluetooth TV audio stuttering

Have you verified the audio going to the bluetooth transmitter is good? If it is, the issue is entirely with the the transmitter/speaker and unrelated to to the video playback.

Re: Documentation feedback

One quick thing that jumped out at me was on the App settings page. The settings I have on the FTV version aren't all documented, and I don't have some of the settings that are documented. Settings from all the different versions available should be detailed.

Re: Advance Warning Of Impending Renewal Charge

I'm sure you can email customer service to cancel and get a refund. But yes, a notification of renewal would be nice. Or not be automatic at all, where you have to login and actively renew once a year.

Re: Recording glitches with Expand/Synology DS214+

I would guess TV mosaic uses UDP to stream from the tuner, and packets are getting dropped occasionally. I used to see this frequently running a MythTV backend from a NAS. I never figured it out at the time, but some research since then suggests increasing the network buffers, if that's even possib...

Re: Still hung up on font size

I have a 55" LG OLED and I sit a good 10-12 ft away. The guide is useless because I can't read anything. I have to get up and stand about 6 feet before I can read it (even WITH my glasses). The images just compound the issue for me with poor contrast or conflicting colors. I may use the DVR and liv...

Re: Still hung up on font size

Agreed, the new fonts are much too large. Couple that with the way things are misaligned on the screen leaving large empty spaces the new UI just doesn't get enough of the right info to the screen yet.

Re: Fire Stick 4k

This band-aid makes my surround sound sad. :| Maybe it's just the 'auto' feature that is broken. Couldn't you change the settings to 'Always Dolby Digital'? It's the asinine way Amazon is implementing audio that's the issue. I want pass-thru to work, which you'd think would be the simplest thing, b...
