Re: Upgrading/formatting the hard drive on SCRIBE or SERVIO

Neat! I love the openness of SD on this. But I'm a little confused as to why post this now. Won't this post be cleaned up/deleted by the time you can actually buy these?

Re: DVR Feature Request - Recording Folder Structure

Coming from an XBMC background, this definitely makes sense to me. I'll be sure to list it in feature requests. I would argue this is absolutely the wrong approach regarding engineering resources. There is already a way to request the recorded metadata and serve the content which is documented (the...

Re: Lack of basic record button makes me miss shows

The problem is in order to stop a recording you have to throw the server out the window. This. Want to record the state of the union? No problem, discover and select record.(I think the discover page is great BTW) Except it's on like 50 channels, and I don't like the one it randomly picked. Tried t...

Re: Splitting the coax between a Prime and a cable modem

It completely depends on the signal level and equipment you have on what you can get away with. I have Comcast with fiber to the house, which means RFoG and only about 50' of copper. I have an 8 way splitter and still have more than ample signal. An amplifier would make things much worse. My last ho...

Re: True Costs of Cable Card setup

For Comcast, if you're not using any of their boxes you should get a $2.50/mo credit when using a cable card. I've had this credit long enough that it's just about paid for the prime by itself. https://www.xfinity.com/equipmentpolicy EDIT: I was curious, so I went back and checked. I bought my prime...

Re: Servio and Scribe

Now, we could up the connection to a 1Gbps one, but again, you're adding 6 months to development. And adding to the cost of the product for what is almost certainly a corner case use. A manufacturer has to ask itself: "Will this feature draw enough additional customers to make the investment worthw...

Re: Servio and Scribe

I would think the majority of people only have one device anyway, just making the device more expensive for unused features.

...SD is attempting to make the device IPTV-capable as well as being a legacy CableCARD device....
That would be killer.

Re: No DVR detected on chromebook. Other devices fine

Try connecting directly to the tuner in a web browser, then try the app again. I see this behavior quite often on my phones and Fire tablets.

Re: HDHR works better in the HDHomeRun viewer than MythTV

What kind of system is driving the Myth backend? I used to see this if my backend got overwhelmed and would drop packets before writing to disk. Even if you are watching live TV in Myth, the stream does go to disk first.

You should call them and let them know. I'm sure they'd appreciate knowing you're using their services without payment.

Re: HDHR-DVRUI - A PHP/Web Interface to your HDHR DVR Setup

I'm getting weird air dates on my upcoming shows. Many are 1969 and others are 2000. One is even Nov 1, 8800! I use my Synology NAS for HDDVR but I installed the DVRUI on my Qnap to see what it would show and it shows the exact same dates for each upcoming show. Doesn't seem to be problematic to an...

Re: Audio sync issues

I see it as well. If AC3 passthru is enabled the video usually locks up while the audio keeps playing. If AC3 is disabled the video keeps going but gets out of sync and quickly becomes unwatchable. Skipping forward or back will fix the sync issue, but the skip is to some random spot, not the 30 seco...

Re: HDHR-DVRUI - A PHP/Web Interface to your HDHR DVR Setup

Updated to the the new version, but the DVRUI logo is GIANT and covers the first four tiles on each page plus all the navigate links near the top when using Chrome. Firefox seems to be OK. Any idea what's going on here? Probably need to Hard reload (CTRL-SHIFT-R) the page on Chrome to force a load ...
