There is a new UI version released this morning, version 20190717b, that fixes the remote issues.
Still seeing 20190716b in Windows 10 - turned on / off early access, restarted program, etc.

No update avail in windows store

Re: New UI is up for everyone

This latest blunder is strongly making me consider abandoning SD products completely, that is how furious I am that i can't even change a channel on 6 of my televisions. That's a bummer! I'd miss having your input. I agree, though, being able to go back if there are issues seems essential. Switchin...

Remote control no longer pauses 20190716b Windows 10

Hey, like it says, I'm on Windows 10 using 20190716b and my remote control no longer pauses, or exits (back button) I've been using this same controller for almost two years without issue https://amzn.to/2XSu9Dd To add insult to injury, I can't go back to the non-beta UI anymore. Turning off 'early ...

I cannot think of a reason for needing a splitter HDMI cable vs a regular HDMI cable. It would have to be a network capable HDMI cable which earlier HDMI cables typically were not capable [was the reason I could not get CIC to work on a Nexus player hook up I had with a TV].

20190708b Windows 10: Persistent bar; lead-in/out time bug

My 2c from the last few days of things I noticed during normal use - hope you find this useful: Behavioral requests: 1) if the bar wasn't displaying and I transported (ff/rw) while viewing a recording, the bar would appear for a second and then disappear Now when I transport in a recording, even if ...

I use both Mint and Ubuntu myself.
Can you shed some light on why PPA preferable to default maintainer's package? Were the package maintainer's releases broken in the past?

Re: View for Linux?

In the not too distant past I used to be a member of Team Kodi (it's a volunteer organization and no one ever got paid, so I don't consider this a COI). I can assure you, just because a distro packages Kodi, or any given software title, doesn't mean the package maintainers are following the best pr...

Re: Prime still available and will it serve my purpose?

I'm in a Spectrum area so I will call and see if they protect their channels. Do you have any idea when the new PRIME might be available? Where geographically are you located? Have you found out any more info? If TWC was purchased by Comcast, does that mean they've relaxed the incessant DRM-ing of ...

glad you got such worked out... you may have discovered such if you checked the guide at zap2it which does show it as such (guide should be same as what SD gets)
Thanks for the tip! I'll check out zap2it next time it happens...

Re: "No channels found on any device"

FWIW I just spun up a Debian buster w/KDE VM from netinstall iso to see what Kodi looks like, and the only issue I had was DHCP automatically set the address to one that was being used by another device. Set ipv4 manually, reset the network and I was good to go. Official HdHomerun add-on was found v...

Re: Illumos-compatible RECORD DVR executable?

Hi, Just wondering if it would be trivial enough to compile a version of RECORD for Illumos-based OS? OmniOS, OpenIndiana, SmartOS, etc. They make a mean file server. Thanks :D Have you tried to run the linux executable in a LX (linux) zone? *Might* just work. lxzones are complicated by the fact th...

Re: View for Linux?

I really like the idea of us making a basic "fork" of our own where we simply offer a prepared version of Kodi, using an HDHR icon, with the add-on already installed and all of the other parts of Kodi hidden. Cool idea. What do you think of forking LibreElec and testing a version for Raspberri Pi 3...

Re: View for Linux?

The Debian package version of Kodi is broken and entirely unsupported. It shouldn't be used by anyone, ever. Good to know, thanks. [s]Do you recommend installing via downloaded release package?[/s] Edits: Sorry hadn't seen the post above yet. I'm surprised to hear this, personally. Debian maintaine...

What a bummer! I hate when companies do that, I've seen it happen with a bunch of stuff I used to use, too. I feel your pain, SD ;)
