Re: HDHomeRun RECORD for FreeBSD randomly misses certain shows

The guide data is missing the flag that indicates these are new episodes, so the DVR thinks they are repeats and doesn't record them. I have opened a case with the guide provider to get that corrected. I thought it might be something like that I really appreciate it - I just missed another show bec...

Re: HDHomeRun RECORD for FreeBSD randomly misses certain shows

I am trying to figure out why you are posting so much config information when you need to look at the logs for the answer (times are UTC), unless the engine isn't working at all (but you said randomly so I have my doubts there are any system issues unless the engine lost internet access for the 4 h...

Re: Lack of basic record button makes me miss shows

We're now at the point where I'm actually bundling issues together because they fit in the same category of fixes. For example, believe it or not, this issue is bundled with the request in another thread to be able to buffer two channels at once, because they rely on similar underlying tech. So we ...

HDHomeRun RECORD for FreeBSD randomly misses certain shows

Hi, Seattle-area comcast customer here. Wondering if there's an issue with my programming schedule? I've had the same setup since the start of summer 2018 - FreeBSD RECORD service and Windows 10 VIEW clients. I record the news on CNN and MSNBC all day/night and lately recordings of certain broadcast...

Re: Lack of basic record button makes me miss shows

The problem is in order to stop a recording you have to throw the server out the window. This. Want to record the state of the union? No problem, discover and select record.(I think the discover page is great BTW) Except it's on like 50 channels, and I don't like the one it randomly picked. Tried t...

Re: Lack of basic record button makes me miss shows

There really are some good points here. Would probably take a fair amount of effort on both front end and back end to make work, but definitely worth noting down. Thank you for acknowledging there is at least a basic functionality issue Just thinking out loud: maybe to avoid having to change the fr...

Lack of basic record button makes me miss shows

Have been loyal HDHomeRun Prime user since 2015, LIVE and RECORD user since 2017 But lack of being able to hit "record" button and have RECORD server record a program makes me miss shows. Case in point, tonight was the State of the Union. Lots of odd commentary specials on before and after were eith...

Re: FreeBSD for RECORD platform

Gah, I just spent the last 6 hours expanding on the post I made earlier and dividing it into six sections. https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/how-to-use-freebsd-for-recording-and-streaming-hdhomerun-tv.66054/ It's a lot easier to follow and has a lot of updated information. For anyone who's interest...

Re: FreeBSD for RECORD platform

Cool, thanks for the tip - I actually did edit it off-site before posting it, got lots of captchas probably for looking like spam ;) I am going to split it into pieces and submit it to the FreeBSD forum, too, for critique. Hopefully I can tighten it up a bit more and get some more people's ideas in ...

FreeBSD for RECORD platform

FreeBSD with ZFS for Recording TV using HDHomeRun tuners Disclaimer: I can't make any promises that any of the included information is correct, just that it appears to be working for me. This is for an HDHomeRun RECORD / DVR setup with 2x HDHomeRun Prime digital cable TV tuner boxes, which use cabl...

Re: Linux Setup (Advanced)

Pretty good example With the usual caveat that your mileage *will* vary (over the years I have created enough init, launchd, system management facility, systemd scripts/configurations to know that examples should be evaluated, and one should sort of expect to need to modify it for your unique envir...

Re: Linux Setup (Advanced)

How do I auto start the HDHomeRun RECORD for Linux when Ubuntu server reboots? Hi, Sorry for reviving the necrothread but hopefully this will help someone who stumbles upon it like me - You would want to create a systemd.service unit file to have systemd run the record executable as a service in th...
