Re: I miss last channel button ...

For the record, we've never promised a last channel button. Actually, we were promised "the ultimate DVR experience". At this point, I'd say they've seriously under delivered. They also promised "Watch and record live TV. Your way." My way includes a last channel button, so where the frick is it? T...

Re: I miss last channel button ...

Have to disagree on this point. I hate Kodi for this reason. To do something 'simple' I have to press upteen times on the remote. Up, Up, left, back, ok. oops not what I wanted so then back , back , back and then more button presses just to find what I really wanted. Kodi is not user friendly at al...

Re: I miss last channel button ...

It's really not that hard, but SD keeps painting themselves into corners with their design decisions and making the easy seem impossible. Let's stop thinking of it as a button press on a remote because you have to take into account umpteen platforms, and think about it as an onscreen option (a probl...

Re: I miss last channel button ...

I too have moved over to Channels. The user experience is eons better. And there's an actual attempt to deliver a better viewing experience to the user, rather than expecting them to just accept whatever they get and be happy with it. It's absolutely appalling to me that there's been zero developmen...

Re: I miss last channel button ...

While watching live TV press up to pop out the guide in numerical order just like it does now. Press down to pop out the guide in last viewed order.
See, you gave it 5 minutes of thought and came up with a solution. SD puts more thought into making excuses than solutions.

Re: I miss last channel button ...

You can have an onscreen "<" and hit select... that is how EMBY does it. I suggested an onscreen option in lieu of nothing else MONTHS AND MONTHS ago, Nick said "he'd look into it." That's better than having to scroll channels that can be a hundred channels apart. And, as usual, NOTHING! Of course,...

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

Each client has the option … you have to set it on each client you use.
Ah okay... thanks.

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

Make sure tuner sharing is on all the clients in the DVR settings.
I don't see a tuner sharing setting per client, just one "share tuners" option.

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

After using Channels for several days, I'm liking it a lot.

I think the interface does a much better job helping the viewer find the TV programs they want to watch.

I'm thinking I'll be sticking with it and hope to see it continue to improve.

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

But will I lose surround sound on TV? I certainly wouldn't want that to happen.
I see that I do. Somehow the HDHomeRun app gets around this.

If my TV supported HDMI-CEC it wouldn't be an issue, but my Samsung does not.

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

If Channels DVR and HDHomerun DVR both use the same recordings folder, will the apps be able to see and play each other's recordings?

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

If you're using a remote with a play/pause button, you can double click it to switch to the last channel. Cool! You can turn off Surround Sound in the Android settings to fix this on all apps, or turn it off just for Channels in the Player section of the Channels app. But will I lose surround sound...

Re: Channels Apps Are Now Free for DVR Subscribers

Channels definitely has some nice features and is very polished. I'm a little disappointed that that you can't scroll sideways to see what's on other channels on the smaller transparent channel overlay listing while watching a channel. Rather, you have to pull down the top which covers a large part ...
