Re: HDHomerun Prime availability
There is no 6 tuner Prime. According to statements from SiliconDust, it was cancelled and never submitted for CableLabs certification.

Re: VLAN support
There are broadcast relays that can work across subnets. Also, there are mDNS relays and/or repeaters that forward messages across subnets.
Perhaps if you were clearer about your network and what you're trying to achieve?

Re: No Internet, No App????
I've been only have listening to this post, but I kind of agree with the concern of no-internet - no-app. Is it only the SD Homerun application that does not work? Would I still be able to control the tuner through the APIs and stream my channels without internet? Would my DLNA TV be able to tune t...

Re: Scribe Quatro and Plex server access recordings
How do you stop a recording, lets say you dont want to record the entire episode, especially for testing purposes. I dont see a way to stop the recording even if you press on the record button again You don't, because you can't. There is no way to stop a recording once it's started. (Even if you ma...

Re: Scribe Quatro and Plex server access recordings
The Scribe comes with a year of DVR service included. However, SiliconDust's HDD products (Scribe/Servio) only work with their own DVR service. They have not made the storage interface they use available/public. Although to be fair, they have never advertised these devices as being compatible with t...

Re: No Internet, No App????
We understand that it's being "worked on", but the issue is that most users don't think the ability to watch TV—which does not require internet connectivity—should require internet connectivity. Why this isn't considered a bug—let alone a release-stopper—is what we can't understand.

Re: No Internet, No App????
I find this unacceptable and am surprised that this bug does not get immediate attention and short-term turnaround. That's because the developers don't see this as a bug, but a feature. It seems they feel needing to download the UI layout code from their servers at every startup is more important t...

Re: No Internet, No App????
The fact that not functioning without internet is not considered a bug and major flaw in the ecosystem of this app is unfathomable. My TV hooked up to my antenna functions without internet, so why shouldn't a TV viewing app connected to my antenna function without internet?

Re: Recording DRM
I still remember the post from a couple years ago—not sure if it's been culled yet—where an SD employee (I believe it was Nick) mentioned that a version of DRM recording was in testing and working well. That was over a year ago, and still the idea of a WMC replacement is a shadow. DRM was mentioned ...

Re: No Internet, No App????
The problem is their "New UI" that was supposed to unify their platforms. They switched from native apps on platforms to a React-based internet hosted app. So essentially, the HDHR app UI is nothing more than JS-based website hosted on their servers. No internet, no app. Also, their app doesn't supp...

Re: Recording DRM
Figured I'd give this thread a bump, since the Prime 6 is undergoing additional hardware revisions, and has yet to be submitted to CableLabs for certification. Any updates about DRM recording? Reports have been conflicting in the past as to whether it was tied to the Prime 6 or not. Also, I seem to ...

Re: Documenation?
In general, the documentation isn't very good, and it is spread all around. They've said they're going to put everything together, and it hasn't quite happened yet in any comprehensive manner. Honestly, the best way to figure out the API is by examining the source of their Kodi plugin, as the Python...

Re: Displaying Closed Captions
In the US OTA closed captions are embedded in the video stream itself. The standard is called CEA-608/708. Not all video decoding and subtitle libraries support embedded closed captions; you may want to check your video player to ensure captions embedded in the video stream are supported.
