Re: changing SSH port for homerun dvr setup

If your NAS is not addressable from the public internet, then keeping SSH on port 22 isn't really an issue. You can tell the Synology box to ignore that particular warning, and it will no longer flag SSH on 22 as problematic.

Re: HDHomeRun Prime across a VPN

Ned, shouldn't the duration be "-1" for a live stream, rather than "0"? So,

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:-1,…
instead of

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:0,…
would be preferable. (I know I always used "-1" for the duration field with Tvheadend, and never had issues.)

Re: EPG info for Kodi also transcoding

Regarding the guide info in the broadcast: This is the EIT information, and software must look for it and decode it separately. It looks like NextPVR does not handle this. Tvheadend does; I believe MythTV does; SiliconDust's DVR does not. In any case, you may want to stick with your Schedules Direct...

Re: Recording DRM

Figured I'd give this thread a bump, since the Prime 6 is undergoing additional hardware revisions, and has yet to be submitted to CableLabs for certification. Any updates about DRM recording? Reports have been conflicting in the past as to whether it was tied to the Prime 6 or not. Also, I seem to ...

Re: Seems like a red dot really means MIGHT record

My suggestion would be to add more tuners if worried about such conflicts. I know you're not a SiliconDust employee, but is the party line regarding conflict management really "Buy more tuners"? It seems a bit backward to say "We can't be bothered to write software that handles conflict management,...

Re: HDHR PoE?

You might look at something like this: https://adafru.it/3239

It takes 802.3af PoE and offers 5, 9, or 12V selectable output with a barrel jack. If the diameters are off, I'm sure you can find something else that's similar.

Re: play speed

The only SD tuner with GbE is the discontinued Prime ... and maybe its near cousin the DVB-C Expand.

Re: Has my HDHomerun been hacked?

Well it's obvious there's some process on your machine that is constantly—and briefly—accessing your tuner. Now you just need to narrow it down.

Since you've indicated you're using TVMosiac, perhaps you ought to check with DVBLogic and see why their program keeps hitting your tuner.

Re: Has my HDHomerun been hacked?

The RTP streams seem to be the full mux. The provided logs also seem to show that both tuner0 and tuner1 are being accessed from the same client, .56. The details of the provided tuner shows that it has been locked to the client, which wouldn't be the case from a randomly accessed web client. Perha...

Re: Documenation?

In general, the documentation isn't very good, and it is spread all around. They've said they're going to put everything together, and it hasn't quite happened yet in any comprehensive manner. Honestly, the best way to figure out the API is by examining the source of their Kodi plugin, as the Python...

I’m not clear if above is saying TVheadend supports EIT with HDHR or what other software supports it?
Yes, as far as I'm aware Tvheadend indeed supports EIT from HDHR tuners.

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

"Again"....such aggravation in your responses on here to YOUR companies loyal customers Ned....shame. My point was the IDEA was merely saying having ANY tuner box with 3 tuners, and using multiples to get to 6, 12 or more tuners, was more ideal for fallback sake to be able to still have tuners usab...

Re: DVR - disabling log file?

Taking two seconds to spin up when I launch the software or when it begins recording is too long? While I'm not disputing that that's the given reason, that sounds fishy to me. I concur. I keep my DVR drive as an external USB3 drive that regularly sleeps after 30 mins of inactivity. When using that...

Re: Why isn’t PVR using EIT PF data to accurately start/stop recordings?

Tvheadend uses EIT data as its primary EPG if it's available and set up. (Tvheadend's HDHomeRun implementation doesn't use virtual channel tuning for OTA broadcasts, and instead tunes based upon broadcast frequency and PID.) If this is an important feature for you, you might want to look into DVR so...
