Re: Network RecordPath Linux

Mount the network volume to a static mount ("/mnt/dvr" seems fitting), and reference that path in your settings. You'll probably also want to add that network mount to your fstab so it persists across reboots.

Re: HR Local Only Mode?

SiliconDust's apps will not function without internet connectivity. If you want to use your tuner without internet, you'll have to find another app.

For most any platform VLC will let you directly connect to the tuner. For iOS devices, I recommend Channels (which is free on iOS) to access your tuner.

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

My question is which one of the three approved CableLabs DRM encryption will you go with? Microsoft PlayReady – the DRM that’s built into Windows Media Center and Windows Media Center Extenders. DTCP-IP – the DRM that’s part of the DLNA. DTCP-IP is still relatively uncommon in consumer devices toda...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

So now I’m wishing you offered your IP solution again. I’m using Channels with TVE and it works. But I would much rather pay SD for an IP solution and use Plex. Please, no. SD's ill-fated "Premium TV" was grey-market IPTV being resold as a legit service. It was plagued with issues from day one, whi...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

Thank you for the reply, Ned. However, it does beg the question of what additional hardware—or other—requirements are required for DRM recording and playback that the current HDHR software clients cannot meet; and why does a SiliconDust provided hardware recording device differ from a third-party de...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

We'll have some more official announcement in the near future, but I've been told I can tell people if they ask me about it directly. … And we're still going to release DRM recording support. At first it will come out for the SCRIBE/SERVIO DVRs, because we were able to built those with special cons...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?

So after years of posts being deleted and marked as FUD, turns out the predictions of it never being made were right all along. Yep. And now we'll see if the veracity of DRM recording not being tied to the Prime 6 is true. I'll believe it when I see it. After all, what's 6 years between friends ...

Re: Channel management

I have 4 Primes I use to make a video wall for multiple sports games. The challenge I run into is managing the amount of channels I have. I’m wondering if it’s possible to mass disable things like SD channels or remove duplicates? Managing one probe is hard enough with 4 it’s almost insane. Please ...

Re: How to use connect duo during internet outage

Channels iOS app is free, and supports HDHomeRun tuners. You may not get guide data without and internet connection, but it will play the streams without internet.

Re: HDHomerun 3 tuners, cable card, NPVR

Have you considered moving to Linux and running NextPVR there? At least that way you can run an OS that isn't woefully insecure (and being heavily targeted by ransomware and other nasty stuff) while still being able to use older hardware. You'll probably want to stick to a lightweight desktop like ...

Re: Grid Guide

In the past the developers have said they had no intention of bringing a traditional grid guide to their app. More recently, they have said they may consider adding it in the future. The current status seems to be somewhere between "who knows" and "a quarter past never".
