There are broadcast relays that can work across subnets. Also, there are mDNS relays and/or repeaters that forward messages across subnets.
Perhaps if you were clearer about your network and what you're trying to achieve?

Re: No Internet, No App????
I've been only have listening to this post, but I kind of agree with the concern of no-internet - no-app. Is it only the SD Homerun application that does not work? Would I still be able to control the tuner through the APIs and stream my channels without internet? Would my DLNA TV be able to tune t...

You're not missing anything. This is not possible with SiliconDust's software.

Re: Scribe Quatro and Plex server access recordings
How do you stop a recording, lets say you dont want to record the entire episode, especially for testing purposes. I dont see a way to stop the recording even if you press on the record button again You don't, because you can't. There is no way to stop a recording once it's started. (Even if you ma...

Re: Scribe Quatro and Plex server access recordings
The Scribe comes with a year of DVR service included. However, SiliconDust's HDD products (Scribe/Servio) only work with their own DVR service. They have not made the storage interface they use available/public. Although to be fair, they have never advertised these devices as being compatible with t...

Re: Can anyone read the FULL description in movies?
As long as there's some way to view the full text, that's all that matters. Selecting the truncated text to display a larger popup/modal with the full text follows the UX that most other software uses, so would probably be the easiest understood. (Ending the truncated text with an ellipsis indicator...

Re: Can anyone read the FULL description in movies?
Agreed. We had a quick internal discussion and kicked off adding the star rating to the UI as a separate entity. Pretty good chance it will make the beta ("early access to new features") later this week. Nick Is the root issue of being unable to view the full description going to be part of the bet...

Re: No Internet, No App????
We understand that it's being "worked on", but the issue is that most users don't think the ability to watch TV—which does not require internet connectivity—should require internet connectivity. Why this isn't considered a bug—let alone a release-stopper—is what we can't understand.

Re: No Internet, No App????
I find this unacceptable and am surprised that this bug does not get immediate attention and short-term turnaround. That's because the developers don't see this as a bug, but a feature. It seems they feel needing to download the UI layout code from their servers at every startup is more important t...

Re: No Internet, No App????
The fact that not functioning without internet is not considered a bug and major flaw in the ecosystem of this app is unfathomable. My TV hooked up to my antenna functions without internet, so why shouldn't a TV viewing app connected to my antenna function without internet?

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?
My question is which one of the three approved CableLabs DRM encryption will you go with? Microsoft PlayReady – the DRM that’s built into Windows Media Center and Windows Media Center Extenders. DTCP-IP – the DRM that’s part of the DLNA. DTCP-IP is still relatively uncommon in consumer devices toda...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?
So now I’m wishing you offered your IP solution again. I’m using Channels with TVE and it works. But I would much rather pay SD for an IP solution and use Plex. Please, no. SD's ill-fated "Premium TV" was grey-market IPTV being resold as a legit service. It was plagued with issues from day one, whi...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?
Thank you for the reply, Ned. However, it does beg the question of what additional hardware—or other—requirements are required for DRM recording and playback that the current HDHR software clients cannot meet; and why does a SiliconDust provided hardware recording device differ from a third-party de...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?
We'll have some more official announcement in the near future, but I've been told I can tell people if they ask me about it directly. … And we're still going to release DRM recording support. At first it will come out for the SCRIBE/SERVIO DVRs, because we were able to built those with special cons...

Re: Is the PRIME 6 soon to be released?
So after years of posts being deleted and marked as FUD, turns out the predictions of it never being made were right all along. Yep. And now we'll see if the veracity of DRM recording not being tied to the Prime 6 is true. I'll believe it when I see it. After all, what's 6 years between friends ...
