Re: Access HDMHomeRun using Windows 10 App

Either they must be on the same subnet, or you must use a broadcast relay daemon to forward broadcast packets from one subnet to the other.

Both hdhomerun_config and hdhomerun_config_gui comes with the windows software package (software not app).
Thanks for the clarification. I know they removed it from the macOS package, but at least it's still there in the Windows package.

Re: Realtime Tuner Monitoring?

There's no necessary documentation. It presents a simple window, with a list control on the left with each discovered device and its tuners. On the right are two sections. The upper section is for selecting the channel (using frequency or RF channel, virtual channel numbers are not supported), and a...

Re: Realtime Tuner Monitoring?

What you're probably looking for is the hdhomerun_config_gui app that they used to ship. It's no longer shipped with their packages, but the source is still available: https://www.silicondust.com/support/linux/ I'm not sure if the Windows application was built from the same sources or what toolchain...

Re: Use cable box composite output as video source

You need to mux the video into an ATSC or ClearQAM stream in order for the tuner to see it. I believe there's a program for gnuradio using an SDR (like an RTL-SDR) to handle first the muxing of the signal, and then the radio to output the stream. Honestly, it's WAY more trouble than it's worth to do...

Re: Connect Quatro static/fixed IP

Yes, they all use DHCP or APIPA. But, the TECH models have always allowed for static IPs. From their own HDHomeRun TECH Usage Guide : /sys/ipaddr dhcp|"<ip> <mask> <gw> <dns>" Get/set system IP address The current documentation is from 2014, but I recall the "/sys/ipaddr" entry from earlier docs, to...

Re: Connect Quatro static/fixed IP

No, the only tuners to support static IPs are the TECH line geared towards more commercial use.

Re: Can HDHomeRun Quatro be connected direct to laptop

Yes you can. If a DHCP server is not running, the HDHR tuner will assign itself a LinkLocal address (169.254/16), which should be discoverable from a direct connection on your computer's ethernet port. (I know this works, because I used to run several tuners in this manner back when the Primes' ethe...

Re: HDhomerun static IP

My AirPort Extreme router is on the blink, and isn't assigning IP addresses for any wired connections. I've been able to connect to all of my other wired devices and manually set the network (e.g. IP, Subnet, Gateway) but I can't find anyway to do this on my HDhomerun. Surely there is a way to manu...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

Reading between the lines: Since the Prime 3 is EOL, and SD essentially has no CableCARD product to make further developing DRM support for their DVR financially viable ("Why develop software for hardware they do not sell," to paraphrase Ned's post), don't expect DRM recording any time soon. If the...

Re: 6 tuner prime soon !!!

We have explained before that DRM recording support is not tied (not in the way you seem to be implying) with the PRIME 6. As a matter of managing our resources and being able to fund development and continued support, it made sense to have DRM ready in time for the PRIME 6, when we thought we woul...

Re: Buying used Prime

Does anyone have information regarding any hardware revisions of the prime? I have 3 models purchased new from years ago. They have been rock solid for years now. I see that it appears there was a redesign of the box artwork at some point. Were the 3 tuner status lights also removed? Were there any...

Re: Channels DVR + DRM

I can add my experience with this as well. When the Beta was announced I HAD to try it out. I was super bummed when Premium TV went away over here. So, I was still looking and trying other solutions. It required me to have to use several different apps to get what I wanted at a price I was willing ...

Well, fiddlesticks.

I'm not sure I understand what "modern method of tuning" is, but could you point me to any software that doesn't use it?

Thanks for the reply...
MythTV and Tvheadend are two such DVR software packages.
