Re: HDHomeRun App on Roku vs Firestick
While we don't stop the app from running on a Roku Express 4K+ we do specify the minimum supported Roku hardware as a Roku Ultra 4800X or newer. ^^^ OK this is good to know. I have been having loads of problems getting my own setup running (two older Roku sticks), as my other posts document ;). Nic...

Re: No Sound on HDHomerun App on Roku with Older Sony Bravia
I think we went down a rabbit hole of seeing if any HDMI extractors would actually decode AC-3, a few years back, and I don't think we found any. Most were extracting PCM to analog. If someone does find an HDMI extractor that can actually decode AC-3 then please tell us, because that would be fanta...

Video Not Fullscreen on many Channels with Roku app
Search the forums and did not see this mentioned so I'm asking. Using the HDHomerun app on Roku device, many channels (both SD and HD) are showing up as not full screen, just small windows on a green screen. As there are not really any setting on the app, is this something I can resolve in the Roku ...

Re: No Sound on HDHomerun App on Roku with Older Sony Bravia
According to the specs for the Sony Bravia KDL-32D20L1 -> it ONLY supports PCM Stereo over HDMI. Thank you for this very detailed response, I really appreciate it! I will look into getting one of these splitter boxes to separate the video/audio signal. One thing I noticed you mentioned is my Sony B...

No Sound on HDHomerun App on Roku with Older Sony Bravia
I just installed my new(er) Connect device on my network and it was detected, I scanned for channels, it looked to be working great, and so I ran a couple test recordings via a 3rd party app and all went well. Before I purchase and install the SD DRV service, however, I wanted to make sure the HD Ho...

Adding new HD Homerun device to network
Hi there, I just bought a newer HDHR4-2US Connect to replace my HD Homerun Dual (HDHR3-US), and I had a question about installation. As it will all be running on the same system, can I just replace the tuner, rescan in the HD Homerun Setup application (Windows 10) and I am good? Or do I need to unin...

Re: Minimum SD Hardware Needed for DVR Software
For anyone else who happens across this thread, note that the CONNECT 4K/FLEX 4K models fully support ATSC 1.0 on all tuners, they just happen to also support ATSC 3.0 on 2 of them. Nothing is lost for 1.0 channels if you pick up a 3.0-capable model with an eye towards the future. I did not know th...

Re: Minimum SD Hardware Needed for DVR Software
am hopeful it all gets sorted before the cutoff of ATSC 1.0, whenever that is. I read June 2027, but we'll have to see. There is no set date for an ATSC 1.0 cutoff. 2027 is just the next time they will reconvene with no decision made either way what will happen after that. But considering that ther...

Re: File format for DVR recordings
Its a ts with a .mpg extension (some software may required it be renamed with .ts to play in it but SD's software requires .mpg. Codecs are whatever your station broadcasts unless you happen to have one of the old extends in us that is usually mpeg2 and ac3 for atsc1 and hevc and ac4 for atsc3, oth...

File format for DVR recordings
Hiya, considering switching to the SD DVR service and was wondering what file format the recording software uses. MP4? Can I play them with other applications or only the DVR application? Currently I use NextPVR and Schedules Direct for my EPG. My recordings are save to local storage and transcoded ...

Minimum SD Hardware Needed for DVR Software
Hi, I have a legacy HDHR3-US, which does not fully work with the latest software and I want to upgrade so that I can use the latest SD software fully, including the DVR-Software. I, however, want to stick with an ATSC 1.0 tuner given all the ATSC 3.0 issues I've read about here and other places. I w...
