Re: Does Scribe need a NAS or other server?

I kept on reading and finally found on page 8 of the other thread that says DVR is in the SERVIO so don't need a NAS.

Re: Does Scribe need a NAS or other server?

Thanks as that answers the first part. What about QUATRO + SERVIO but without a SCRIBE? Does it still need a NAS for the DVR engine?

Does Scribe need a NAS or other server?

I looked around but didn't find an answer. Need to update the FAQs for the new products.

So if I buy a Scribe do I no longer need to run HDHomerun DVR software?
And more importantly, if I add a Servio to my Quattro do I no longer need to run HDHomerun DVR software?

Re: Did I miss the New Firmware announcement ?

I think SD is simply behind in updating everything. The downloads page still shows "Current release: 20180817/20180921"

Re: EyeTV dead for me

Emby. Yes, I am now using Emby for recordings and the HDHomerun software for live tv like watching the news. Emby does seem to be fairly sluggish using the web interface. First the delay while what I assume transcoding is happening/buffering. It then takes a lot of time to do anything like change c...

I can do PIP with legacy EyeTV. Hadn’t thought about that additional advantage.
Did figure out in Emby that you can open a second browser window - open second instance of Emby and stream in that window. A couple extra steps but it does work.

Re: EyeTV dead for me

One other thing that eyeTv did that I miss is viewing with a scrub function. This requires a mouse or trackball as far as I know so most media players can't even attempt it. The eyeTV software does this natively so I never needed or used a fast forward, rewind, or skip control. So all these other me...

Re: EyeTV dead for me

The problem with these discussions of a replacement to EyeTV is that people have different needs and EyeTV met most of them. A live TV watching, channel surfing, streaming, scheduling, archiving, mobile, performance, picture quality, ease of use, and stuff that's not even on my radar but is needed f...

EyeTV dead for me

As of 7PM EST there are no listings from TV Guide. Numerous people have opened tickets with Geniatech over the past few days with response of "we're working on it." Time to move on. I love the HDHomeRun for OTA that is accessible from numerous devices so will stick with their hardware but will be tr...
