Re: Where is new software?

Thanks for the reply but that confuses me even more. Is there a FAQ on how this works?

So new UI is a separate package. Downloaded from Internet or runs? What if your Internet is out/down? So end user can't tell version number of ui. How do you go back to old version if problem?

Where is new software?

Today I received an email saying new software released with the updated UI. Looking at downloads there is nothing new there. Apple store has new for iPhone/iPad. Windows store has 2017 software for Windows 10. A New Way to Watch Live TV For our first gift, this week we launched the newly updated, re...

Re: EyeTV dead for me

New version out that restores HDHomeRun support (dual tuner only?). Also uses new guide. Still 32-bit.

Re: EyeTV dead for me

Emby. Yes, I am now using Emby for recordings and the HDHomerun software for live tv like watching the news. Emby does seem to be fairly sluggish using the web interface. First the delay while what I assume transcoding is happening/buffering. It then takes a lot of time to do anything like change c...

I can do PIP with legacy EyeTV. Hadn’t thought about that additional advantage.
Did figure out in Emby that you can open a second browser window - open second instance of Emby and stream in that window. A couple extra steps but it does work.

Re: EyeTV dead for me

One other thing that eyeTv did that I miss is viewing with a scrub function. This requires a mouse or trackball as far as I know so most media players can't even attempt it. The eyeTV software does this natively so I never needed or used a fast forward, rewind, or skip control. So all these other me...

Re: EyeTV dead for me

The problem with these discussions of a replacement to EyeTV is that people have different needs and EyeTV met most of them. A live TV watching, channel surfing, streaming, scheduling, archiving, mobile, performance, picture quality, ease of use, and stuff that's not even on my radar but is needed f...

EyeTV dead for me

As of 7PM EST there are no listings from TV Guide. Numerous people have opened tickets with Geniatech over the past few days with response of "we're working on it." Time to move on. I love the HDHomeRun for OTA that is accessible from numerous devices so will stick with their hardware but will be tr...
