Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

None. Was thinking about doing the cable card thing, but now that Channels can record tv everywhere content. No need. Will stay with my connects So, you want to pay for a cable subscription, and box rental (since you'll need a cable box for your cable plan, but you don't want a PRIME), so that you ...

Re: Channels DVR + DRM

Can say this tv everywhere beta is working great. I was paying $5 a month for Spectrum’s crappy cloud Dvr. Channels blows Spectrum away. A@E channels are the only ones that don’t work because they don’t provide a live stream.

What does third party login mean? Do you want to log into the forum with your facebook account?
I means you can watch and record cable tv everywhere apps

So when is the Hdhomerun DVR getting 3rd party logins?

This is a game changer that Channels has in Beta. A@E channels seems the only ones that don't provide a live stream, but beats a cable card.

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

I just found out about this beta app, and was excited to think I'd be able to get live tv on my Roku, only to find that I need to go out and buy more equipment in order for this app to work. There was NOTHING in the articles I read about additional hardware being required. Can someone tell me just ...

Re: 4k and Roku support

Verizon is supposed to be carrying all 52 games of the Women's World Cup in 4K, so at least they're moving a bit beyond the stunt stage. Optimum is supposed to have most of them , but they only have one 4K channel so they'll have to miss some of the games when 2 are on at the same time. I don't kno...

They are both OTA
Scribe has OTA tuners built in, but it can also record from other HDHomeRun devices on the network, including HDHomeRun PRIME. Servio has no tuners and only records from other HDHomeRun devices on the network.
very misleading on the Bestbuy website, for both listings

Re: 4k and Roku support

Verizon Fios has added two 4K channels to carry Fox 4K broadcasts, including the Women's World Cup matches starting on Friday. Those should be available to be recorded, at least based on the first one having worked for the initial NASCAR broadcast last month. How will that work with the Service or ...

Re: 4k and Roku support

Well, technically there is nothing wrong with the statement. I don't know of any 4K OTA broadcasts, but if it's broadcast, then it can be recorded. With regard to the Roku support, perhaps the device advertises itself over DLNA and Roku can play the content in that manner. While misleading, there i...
