Re: Recording and Playing back 3.0?

"All" only means "one" (of any given episode). However you can force it to a specific channel. It has been awhile since I checked but it used to be the engine would only record one of the same episode when starting at the same time even when recording oneoffs which would usually force another copy o...

Re: HD HomeRun PRIME and Verizon FIOS - DRM Problems

Yes they is referring to your provider. When they send hits it can be "hours" before all of them clear (typically a hit gets sent 4 times often with a 5-30 minute window between them so it can be important to wait them out before moving on to the next step otherwise it may change things) and one of ...

Re: HD HomeRun PRIME and Verizon FIOS - DRM Problems

First are those channels detected by the scan and properly labeled as being drm protected. If that is the case, your issue is with the client or network. If they aren't detected, typically that is a result of the Pairing process that a hit was on the line that reset the data id so they must enter th...

Re: UI issue - ver. 20210326b

Though NedS may have checked, do you have the DVR engine installed/discovered as that is used for the live buffer (assuming no drm). DRM protected channels and those without DVR such buffer uses ram. When most things seemed to go through my scribe with virtually no space left I also would experience...

Re: HDHomerun Connect Duo - only recording 30sec of all my recorded shows

The firmware issue didn't affect the connect duos or quatros, only the older connects (without duo in its name). Where is your engine? The record engine does not support saving to a remote system... storage must be local.. there have been some tricks that could accomplish such but after so many file...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime Channels Not Detected

Chromecast with google tv works fine with DRM protected channels (I use 3 of them daily). The trick is usually getting location services set up (and you may need to clear cache/data from app and reboot). There are some cases that your network may not meet requirements (wifi needs a certain level of ...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime Channels Not Detected

They should work with the hdhomerun app on Google TV, what model (assuming you are referringto android models as mentioned and not the ancient one). Main thing is device must be official which is why I said androidtv rather than android as typically all those are properly licensed compared to generi...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime Channels Not Detected

I had typed a long reply but you got the right hit (hopefully an auditing system doesn't kick in and remove it) With DRM you would need WMC (windows 7/8) to record the channels but you can watch them live on many platforms with the HDHomeRun app (AndroidTV, Windows 10, iOS) and if you have a suffici...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime Channels Not Detected

Basically you need to get your provider to send the hit to change not staged to ready... some providers may need a service call to do that as they need to contact the dncs operator in the local office to send the hit. Basically that is the same issue if a box was not plugged into the coax "network" ...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime Channels Not Detected

You will need the tuning adapter to have upstream. Some people find it best to boot the TA without connecting the USB cable until it is ready. With cisco TA's it usually doesn't matter if split or daisy chained as it is supposed to compensate but some TA's may have issues at the low end (required fo...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Phoenix - Jan 2021

If they are available there, the scan should pick them up. Keep in mind the scan adds 100 to the virtual channel number (though config also reports it as that number) so they will be in the 100's. Also note that things have been known to change (sometimes multiple times a day) and the device may hav...

Re: Buffering making watching impossible.

what happens when you watch with official app as this sounds like it needs to be moved to 3rd party as it is a plex issue. I am very surprised you ever got such a setup working with that old processor in that NAS which I believe was released around the same time quicksync came out on sandy (and I wo...

Re: Limit to One Device

SD's philosophy is all tuners available to all at all times on your network... first come, first served. Typically the prime will have different channel numbers (unless clear qam). I don't know if plex is 100% dependent on the scan (they used to not be) and if it isn't you could just disable the cha...

Re: Newbie question

They have had ip channels for years so it may or may not make a difference. The scan is the only way to be added foe SD's apps to use, other apps may not even need a scan and go by the channel number provided in their guide but most modern apps at least partially rely on scan. I would first check th...

Re: What does fluctuating signal quality indicate?

Many of such problems are when strength is 100% as you don't know how much above 100% it is and too much strength will cause such. My suggestion in troubleshooting is to always bring down strength to slightly below 100% as the first step as it would be more unlikely that the strength is too high. I ...
