Re: Using MAC for Storage

Multiple record engines typically use the engine with the most space.

If you are attaching external drive to a computer/nas, that is typically the RecordPath, there can be multiple locally attached directories for locations and that device records to the first location in that path, while other ...

Re: Silicondust LPTV

What does this mean to a consumer?
As far as the thread is concerned, more stations regardless of whether or not they are the ones from SD and you are within range to receive them (they are low powered after all) and in most cases have an antenna that is good for low vhf (think very large as in ...

Re: Silicondust LPTV

For what its worth, I was told this long ago about shaw butte, 3 months later my signal levels dropped from -10dBm to around -33dBm which is around what most my majors are from south mountain show. So I do personally believe it was dropped but always mention such supposedly exists as I have never ...

Re: Silicondust LPTV

I'm about 5 miles (NNW) from the channel 7 proposal in Phoenix but it looks like I may not even be able to pick it up due to the heart shaped pattern. I just got a smartkom, which actually helped me out with several channels, and it seems to be begging me to attach a low vhf antenna to one of its ...

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone

On my phone I was very surprised by the prominent location of the record dot (don't use phone for such often as tv belongs on much bigger screens). When I go to my google streamer (and other android tv devices) it is a bit further to the right as jumping back, pause, and skip are earlier while on ...

Re: Scroolbar Issue in 20260115b

To me, Tasks is the only thing that needs a scrollbar, but most will probably never use one. I prefer managing my tasks outside of the app so it doesn't make that much difference to me. Everything else (in app) is done through 10 foot interface so a scrollbar never comes into play, however those ...

Re: BIG NEWS - "Record This Airing" now works for everyone

Most people who want to record something will require the guide to make a series/scheduled recording not one particular recording of one particular episode that is airing in the next several hours and then require one to set such again for the next day.

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

If your atsc3 channels are encrypted they will not currently work with the hdhomerun and the current consumer apps (in theory there are commercial $$$$$$ apps that can possibly work). It can receive unencrypted atsc3 content as well as whatever your duo can receive.(assuming US model duo since you ...

Re: XMLTV guide data

When you purchase the dvr subscription, you should get an email with a code... it used to be clicking on a link on that email would be all one needed to do but years ago most browsers blocked connection to your local devices from a remote site so now activation is done in the HDHomeRun app... see ...

Re: XMLTV guide data

Hello I have a dvr subscription may I have epg url/api key for tv guide? Thx in advance

Access to the API's is given via the DeviceAuth of the device and typically changes every 8 hours unique to your devices.

The device has to be a modern device (I believe not just legacy as legacy devices ...

Re: Encryption

Pardon my complete lack of understanding here... but is that why the CableCard HDHR won't work on AndoridTV devices?

No

Simple reason is with cablecard and dtcp-ip that is 100% based on client device and nothing to do with hdhr. Google dropped an api used to verify the client device which is ...

Re: Encryption

The only answer SD can give, other than completely giving up (which has not happened), has already been given:

Using a gateway product - we expect it will be possible in the future but it is not possible today. The Google ...

Re: XMLTV guide data

signed up for this and deployed a python app that will query and download for me. however can someone explain why the tvg-logo is not in the hdhomerun m3u and only in the xmltv? I believe you should add these to the EXTINF data.

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="3.1" channel-number="3.1" tvg-name ...

Re: XMLTV guide data

Just to be clear, you are using the DeviceAuth(s) of the tuner for the "key" (changes every 8 hours and on reboot of hdhr, also requires device to have internet access) and not just mykey for the "key" and you also subscribe to the dvr service and you have a modern tuner that supports the dvr.
