Re: Windows 10 app crash with DRM channels

Instead of an uninstall, I tried the "Reset" option I found in the "Advanced Options" choice in the "Apps & Features" control panel. That solved the problem.

Windows 10 app crash with DRM channels

Just tried the new Windows 10 app today for the first time. With beta enabled or not, the app crashes when I try to tune a DRM channel. Upon restart it tries to tune the last channel so it repeatedly crashes at that point. If my timing is just right, I can get the app to tune another channel before ...

Re: Pixilation on all channels

Follow the Network Packet Loss guide. In particular do this first: Low level test for network packet loss - CONNECT/EXTEND/PRIME/EXPAND: 1) From a cmd prompt run: "C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config" FFFFFFFF set /tuner0/vchannel <channel number> "C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HD...

Re: Any recourse? Back to stone age. Everything DRM now

Congratulations... that's a great pay-off for some fantastic persistence but really is a shame how difficult it was to resolve. You might suggest in reply that they take this opportunity to train their support staff so that any such problem in the future doesn't take so long to get the attention it ...

Re: Video Broken Feb 6

Just another data point... my Shield is working fine, DRM channels included. I'm using the Feb 6th version of HDHomeRun on the Shield running 7.2.2.

Re: NVidia Shield Unable to play protected content

If you're connected via WiFi I believe you have to enable location sharing for the app. Wired connection doesn't require this, but if you first connect with WiFi and then switch to wired, a reboot is necessary for the app to drop the requirement.

Re: Stutter on Live TV since latest firmware update

Are you sure it's not a network issue? I had a switch start to get flakey on me and experienced something very similar. It was very frustrating and took a long time to track it down.

Check out this post on how to determine if you're suffering any network packet loss.

Re: Grid Guide

The unofficial Kodi PVR Client already has a grid guide. I use it every day. It has an option to show DRM channels in the channel lineups. I don't see why you couldn't use it to schedule DRM recordings once we have that capability, even if you can't play them in Kodi. Thread here: https://forum.sil...

Re: Grid Guide

[removed by moderator] [removed by moderator] It's great that *you* don't want or need a grid guide but the fact that so many others *do* care about it indicates it's value. If SD wants to grow, and I'm sure they do, it's not an option they can afford to be dismissive of. Even if it costs more at l...

Re: Grid Guide

Lastly, all these people asking for options and a grid guide are missing the point.... it would raise the cost of the product to implement a grid guide. Actually I think you and SD are missing the point. A grid guide is very intuitive and naturally expected by users... every cable box and TV media ...

Re: TVJunkieMOD (Record, Request, Playback, Favorites +)

That's correct. The mod doesn't use the official HDHR DVR backend/service. The recording is done within the mod (mod must be running) to the recording path you set within its configure options. (History: I began modifying the official add-on prior to SD announcing the DVR service on kickstarter (ad...

Question re: TVJunkieMOD

Question about this mod... does it use the HDHomeRun's DVR features to initiate recording via the remote recording service - in this case installed on my NAS - or does it do the recording itself to whatever directory the mod is configured to use? I ask because I assumed it used the new DVR features ...
