Re: Encryption

We can't say where SILICONDUST stands with this situation. It would be nice to know. Did you not read literally two posts back regarding SD giving an update once they have a chance to wade through the information? Also, posting entire articles is bad practice as it is usually a copyright violation....

Re: Radio in Pahrump NV

We had those stations in the DC/Baltimore market for a while, and I was able to play them. However, a couple of months ago they disappeared. That was around the time that DRM was added to more channels, so it looks like the broadcasters are still playing around with the configuration.

I don't think Lon and Tyler posted this. It doesn't help.
Not sure this has any relevance here, but the people over on AVS Forum's ATSC 3 thread are likely to be interested.

Re: Encryption

I have a feeling that this FAQ will start showing up in a lot of places after a test drive here. It does a good job of illustrating just how messed up A3SA's technology choices are. It is bad enough that ATSC 3 relies on patent encumbered technology that doesn't have clear fair use cases established...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

For those wanting to talk about (not going to post it) or (not going to post that one either), I would encourage you to go spend time at the AVS Forum ATSC 3.0 thread . Having to wade through piles of "content removed" messages here is becoming very tedious when all I want to know is what ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

A3SA. In 7 months their test provisioning server is still unable to generate a certificate that their own test licensing servers will accept. We can't do anything more until this works - our apps can't connect because the certificates their server provides don't work. That says about all anyone nee...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

I posted about Freecast in one of my cord cutting groups and people seem interested just no one is sure how to get it on their HDHR as most are not really technical. I can't help as my HDHR is not coming until tomorrow. So anyone know how to link this with the HDHR so the local channels also show? ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

It is expected that Nextgen TV logo'ing will require DRM at some point. We will have DRM support before then. Does that mean the "optional" feature will become "mandatory" at that point? Hopefully A3SA and other parties stop dragging their feet so you can enable the support soon...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified

Going to be looking for the logo on the product page and Amazon listing now. :)

Hopefully this means the HDHomeRun will be shown on the certified devices page soon. That will be a little bit of free advertising.
